This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I’m not usually one to read thrillers, or romantic thrillers, but this can change your viewpoint.
Megan is a successful writer, living with her cousin Stacy, who’s going to college. Both women are driven to succeed and enjoy a compatibility despite their hectic schedules.
When Stacy is kidnapped, Megan assumes the perpetrator is the infamous highway dumper and turns to Dean, a hunky detective with a tortured past, for comfort.
I enjoyed the twists and turns the author artfully took us through, giving just enough clues to keep you guessing. The characters definitely took hold and pulled you into their world while the romantic scenes were tastefully written. I love HEA’s.
I would read more by this author.
I truly enjoyed reading this story. It was a great romantic thriller. The relationship is undeniable and the thriller undercurrent keeps tapping at you like the tell-tale heart.
The things thought of in this story are scary, but only because they are plausible. If there had been a declaration of being based off true events, I certainly would believe it!
At about 45% of the way through the book, I knew who bad guy was and why. But my knowing didn't stop the roller coaster because there is a lot more going on than him. Buckle up and enjoy the ride! I am so happy I was chosen to read this wonderful gem! Thank you so much!!
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed a really good criminal suspense filled series until I began the books leading up to Doppelganger by Camille Taylor. (Reviews for the previous books will post at a later date) A serial killer, murder, crime, suspense; these are all things that I love in real life. I have a criminal justice degree, I am a paralegal, and wanted to go into criminal law but that unfortunately did not happen but crime stories just have always fascinated me.
Doppelganger didn’t disappoint in any way, like the previous books I was hooked almost from the very start and wanted to figure out the mystery myself but at the same time I didn’t because I loved the suspense of not knowing. Dean and Meghan will keep you on the edge of your seat as well on the edge of burning passion between them that you know when it happens will burn hot.
I highly recommend Doppelganger as well as the previous books to anyone who is a fan of a criminal suspense filled book. While there is romance I think the best way to describe these books is murder, crime and suspense with a side of romance.
