About Dorothy Emry
Dorothy J. Emry is not a New York Times, internationally bestselling author except in her dreams. She's had a modicum of success (the teensiest, tiniest bit) getting her work published, but just can't stop writing.
She recently authored one of the chapters for the collaborative Steampunk novel Army of Brass (April 2018). Less recently, her short story "Outside the Grid," about a mad Mars rover, appeared in Escape Velocity: The Anthology, April 2011. Under the pen name Kat Duarte, she had three paranormal romance novellas published: Rise of the Wolf, Angel gets Her Wings, and Goldie and the Three Bares, all of which are now sadly out of print.
Among other things she has been a display manager for a major Chicago department store, a library worker, a tai chi teacher's assistant, a high school curriculum writer, and a freelance artist. She harbors delusions of retiring early so she can write full time. When not working at her nine-to-five gotta-pay-the-bills job or writing, she likes to read, watch anything nerdy on TV, and hug her golden doodle Mulligan. Born and raised on the far south side of Chicago, she currently lives in Northwest Indiana and always keeps an emergency supply of junk food on hand in case of a zombie apocalypse.
