The product is an absolutely wonderful idea. However, the 2-star rating comes because of what I consider a design flaw. The material is intended to bend around the cord and snap on. Great in theory, but the plastic does not bend easily and will break easily. The colored plastic actually turns white with the stress of bending. I was using these on very small, very thin cords. The price is right,so maybe inferior material is a given. Good idea, but bad design and material choice.

You know what I mean. You're kneeling down on the ground and you wiggle the power cord you are trying to find or unplug. This takes all the guess work out of which cord is which. I love the color coded identifiers and the cute little pictures. I've used the laptop, monitor, printer, router, and phone one; it was a little hard to get around my laptop and monitor cord because they are a little thick. I wish it had a wider hole for the cord to go through and I also wish they would sell just the punch out icons instead of having to buy a whole different set of cord identifiers.

Not enough of the more "modern" used items for inside the "Dotz". When I closed 2 of them the plastic hinge broke so they became trash fudder. Also they need something on them to keep them from sliding on the cord. Once closed they kept sliding to the end which is worthless because you still need to dig around for what they go to "fixed by tying a note in cord to keep were I needed them.

I purchased these colorful "Dotz DCI650CO Cord Identifiers for Computer/Office" for the smaller cables & computer wires and the "Dotz DCS750AN Cord Straps - Multicolor" for the thicker computer cables. They are doing the job perfectly! Sure they are somewhat fragile but with a small amount of care attaching them, they fit perfectly and will stay for a long time. I give them both five stars. Maybe I'm not picky enough but for the price and quick delivery I love them.

I just redid my entire home office and audio/visual setup and decided to be pro-active this time around and label all of my cords. It seems like a silly and anal thing to do until you're down on all four knees under the desk trying to figure out what cord goes with what machine.

I got these because they seemed the easiest (and they come with pictures!) and I am happy to report that they are indeed easy to use. You pop out the little circle picture, put it in the plastic dot and snap it shut over your cord. No muss, no fuss. The office equipment version of this product comes with pictures of all the standard office stuff - computers, scanners, printers, lamps, etc. There is also a card of blank circles so that you can write your own if your particular item isn't covered in the standard illustrations.

One caveat - the dots will only fit over flat cords, not round ones. So for example, if you have a large round, power strip cord that you want to label for some reason, you won't be able to do that with these. But most office and audio visual equipment have the flat style cords. I was able to put these on everything I had (computer, printer/scanner, monitor, phone, recharging station, desk lamp and fan). I like these so much that I also bought the audio visual equipment version (for TVs, DVRs, etc.).

The concept of this product is very practical. However, I found that the opening to each identifier is very small. As a result, I found it very difficult to close once the cord was attached. The font on the cards (i.e., modem, printer, keyboard, etc.,) is too small and difficult to read. Finally, the pictures on the cards are not easily visible through the color coded tabs. Overall, I think the price for this product is fair given the few issues I mentioned.

I really liked these and I use them to label the endless amount of wires that I have going to and from my PC. Unfortunately they are somewhat small and they have trouble fitting around wider cables like my power cord. I was able to make them work and I would still recommend them to anyone looking to label their wires ;-)
