From the Author
I wrote Double Blind: A Medical Thriller after passing the certification test as a Clinical Research Associate. Prior to taking the national test, I was a clinical research nurse in a university hospital setting. I've participated in clinical drug trials from Phase I studies all the way to Phase IV. It's an interesting experience to play a small part in bringing a new drug to market. Unfortunately, I'm a writer, and I notice flaws that can be exaggerated for fiction.
EZ, the eyedrops, in Double Blind were discovered after the researcher read unethical studies in human experimentation. Its background doesn't matter after the research volunteers gave the eyedrops a cool nickname, and the money rained down. I hope you enjoy reading Double Blind: A Medical Thriller as much as I enjoyed writing it.
About the Author
Doon hopes the reader will ask the central question: What would you do if you had proof of fraud or harm? Would you blow the whistle, risking your life and loved ones to reveal the truth? Would you turn in a resignation and remain silent? Or would you turn a blind eye for a paycheck? In Double-Blind: A Medical Thriller, the main protagonist makes the hard call for all the right reasons.
