I liked Double Duplicity so much I went and bought the next book in the series.
It has a good mystery. Likeable characters, drama, romance and action. It is also a clean read.
Shandra Higheagle is a potter and lives on a mountain. After going to her grandmother's funeral Shandra stops by a art gallery because the owner wants another vase she finds a body. The owner of the art gallery. Shandra is the suspect. She also saw her friend from leaving the area. Shandra is half Indian. Her step-father and mother don't want her to say anything about her being part Indian or have anything to do with it.
Shandra starts having dreams about seeing her deceased grandmother who just died and clues about the murder.
Detective Ryan Geer believes in her dreams more than Shandra did. Ryan is single. He does not appreciate Shandra keeps trying to figure out who the killer was.
There is a lot of suspects, I guessed wrong about who the killer was.
There sure a lot going on at the crime scene.
The setting is Huckleberry Mountain Resort town in Idaho.
I was given this ebook to read by author. In return I agreed to give a honest review and be part of Double Duplicity blog tour.
Shandra finds a dead body in the small town she lives in, and immediately becomes a suspect. It doesn't take long for her to convince the Detective that comes to investigate the murder that she didn't do it, but she keeps some secrets from him she shouldn't have, and he knows it. But now it is up to her to prove her friend's innocence.
I like the chemistry between Shandra and Detective Greer, and the dreams that she has that help lead her on her way. I also liked the side characters that they both came into contact with throughout the story. A great mystery that I highly recommend - I can't wait to read more from this author AND more of this series.
Note: I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Please remember that this review is my opinion based on my impression of the story.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review.
I wanted to read through in one sitting, but I also wanted to make it last and enjoy the experience.
I loved so much about it - the Native American theme, references to shamanism and psychic dreaming.
I also loved that while the main characters had attraction, no one immediately fell into bed with anyone else.
And YES - I love the dog!
There was one character I disliked at first mention, which shows how powerful the author's writing is.
There were times you could not tell the good guys from the bad guys, and that led to more suspects.
Normally I will tell you more about a books plot, but trust me that you will enjoy this and look forward to future books in the Shandra Higheagle series.
OK - here is the plot information you must know - Shandra is having trouble accepting her own talents.
I want to read more about the secondary characters as well. I just know there are more secrets in this community that will be revealed. A fantastic start to what I know will be a popular series.
