I don't like bitter.
But I didn't get them for taste purposes. I certainly didn't need the daily 211 calories a one and a half ounce serving (about 5 pieces) recommended in the studies suggested. I bought these as an experiment and they did seem to help with some of my memory issues. I plan on continuing on the flavinol quest.
When I started running low on Dove, I started doing more research. 211 calories is a significant amount of my daily nutritional intake, and when it's all in sugars, it's not good. So I looked for an alternative for the flavinols and found out two things: The first is that Dove uses the alkaline processing that actually REMOVES most of the flavinols, which is why I needed so much of it for a therapeutic dose. It also adds quite a bit of sugar, which I don't need. The other thing I discovered is that it has a relatively low level of cocoa in it compared to other chocolate options.
It's tasty, it's rich and it's high-calorie. It's great for a survival kit, or the occasional self indulgence. But for my purposes, it's not what I want or need.
For those looking for Flavinols, I found Lindt Excellence extra dark 85% cocoa (Also available through Amazon) to be far superior in the amount of flavinols it contains. It's NOT processed with alkaline (the 90% is, though, so be careful about that).Read more ›
My wife and I are Type 2 diabetic and this product suits our needs emotionally and physically. It
tastes good too. We give chocolate to delivery people, friends at church, senior bus drivers, poor
children, homeless people, barbers, bakers, dentists, and candle stick makers. Spread the joy!! You
won't be disappointed. Hope this goes on prime soon.
A+ for both product and packaging.
The first page of the 'ad' suggested 4 9.5 ounce bags; however, I received 4 8.75 ounce bags. The differences are insignificant when one package is purchased; however, these types of inconsistencies shout unfavorably about the integrity of the company.
We have been eating these little Promises for years and have a fairly good idea of what they should taste like. These have that "We road around in the hot UPS truck for over a day and are almost mush."
Our local chain grocers charge about $3± a bag or $12 for 4 bags or 52% less than this seller. I readily admit to accepting the responsibility for paying the excessive price; however, that is what happens to an addict. They are so good.

Buyer beware. These are advertised as 9.5 oz packages, but when they arrived they were the same 8.87 oz bags that are sold in grocery stores.Published 1 month ago by Stephen Alleman

I ordered these chocolates to hand out to our employees as a little treat. They are old, not fresh and tasted terrible. I couldn't even finish mine.Published 7 months ago by Amazon Customer
