“Can love survive all obstacles? In Dovetail, Karen McQuestion crafts a story spanning generations, one brimming with family secrets between sisters, breathtaking suspense, and the undeniable power of love everlasting. I dare you to put the book down before reaching the triumphant conclusion. I couldn’t.” —Christine Nolfi, bestselling author of The Road She Left Behind
“Nobody writes with such compelling and poignant simplicity as Karen McQuestion, and her latest novel Dovetail could well be the best proof yet. In this wonderfully atmospheric, dual timeline tale, a beautiful love story and a haunting and mysterious, long-ago death, come alive through dreams that carry a message critical to the present, but dreams can often obscure and confuse the truth, leading good people into deeper trouble. I was drawn into this story by the cast of very human characters and the elements of love-inflected mystery and suspense, and kept quickly turning the pages until the very satisfying end. This is storytelling at its finest. Don’t miss it!” —Barbara Taylor Sissel, bestselling author of Faultlines and The Truth We Bury

From the Author
Every time I said, "Not just yet."
And then one day, it was ready so I sat down with my laptop and got to work.
It's a longer book than I usually write and there are more layers to it. Also, it's different than my other novels, but what else is new? I have trouble staying in my lane, so much so I'm not even sure I have a lane.
Some of my readers have said this is my best book yet. I'm unable to judge my own work, so I don't know if that's true or not. All I know is that I poured my heart and soul into this novel and I hope readers enjoy it.

There were a few things that held my attention from chapter to chapter that include well developed characters, the interesting connections between the two timelines, and the mystery of Joe's dreams. There's also a suspense element to this story that had me anxious to know the books ending.
Dovetail was an easy and enjoyable read that I recommend to my family and friends. Clean romance with magical realism in a mystery to solve. I liked how Joe, the main character was a respectable, kind, and a funny guy with flaws. He definitely was my favorite character, him and Ricky. Ricky brought some suspense to the story, but you'll have to read the book to find out Ricky's story ;)
and wakes up screaming each night. His family fears

he is there to help her get the family home ready to
sell. While cleaning out the house he finds pictures
and information about his family which will
eventually help him discover the source of his dreams.
A young woman, (with her own problems)
he meets when he takes items to be sold at her second
hand store become close and she helps him with his
