Alaina wanted to be an actress; but she wasn’t having any luck getting parts. Now she lost her job too as the restaurant she worked in closed. When she gets home, she finds her boyfriend of three years, Joe, was moving to Chicago and had subleased his apartment. That meant Alaina would have nowhere to go in a month! What else could happen to her? As Alaina packed her things to go home for Thanksgiving, at least, she packed up the letter that Joe left on the counter for her. She was in no mood to listen to what he had to say.
Alaina’s Mother had almost insisted Alaina come home for Thanksgiving. She said she missed her and it had been a long time since she had been there. Alaina knew it had but she really didn’t want to hear how successful her sister, Ray was. However, it was time to go home. Then she could figure out where she wanted to go after Thanksgiving.
Would Thanksgiving go by without any drama? Not on your life! You just have to read this book to find out what all happens to Alaina.
This story is entertaining and upbeat. I liked the steady pace, and the characters were likable.
