Now, there isn't much I want to say about the actual plot because you need to read it to fully enjoy this. Why do I love this book? Even though is seems depressing at times, we are taken on an emotional roller coaster as Ian's life unfolds before our eyes. He is a good man who does the right thing and doesn't rock the boat. He's one of those kind hearted souls who definitely gets taken advantage of while he believes that person isn't that bad.... You cheer for him and wish he would kick some butt! There are characters where you'd like to wring their sorry necks! They are just so horrible and evil! Then, you have characters who are really lovable and you keep cheering them on.
This is a story that sticks with you because you know people like Ian... and you know people like Larry... and you hope that the good guy will catch his break! ...and the other one? You hope he gets lethally hit by a malfunctioning robot! Again, it is a story that draws you in and your emotions run wild here! Not many authors can elicit a good emotional rush in many directions as Mr Donnelly does.
I enjoyed this story, and I am hoping the author writes more stories along the vein! I will indeed read more of his work!
Also, the author does have a blurb in the back of the book which offers to email you more books, if you should choose to accept. And I think I will do just that.
A world where humans become lumps depending on robots, except 1 man and his young son.
Who gets to decide what is best for all humanity?
