First, I have to specify that this is NOT a HOW-TO-DOWSE book but is great for Beginning, Intermediate and even Advanced Dowsers to shore up their technique, or fill-in-the-blanks of those with not-so-good technique like myself.
Per the title, the main thrust of the book is how to achieve “the dowsing state” which is something I have NO knowledge of OR its crucial import.
The authors are extremely experienced on Everything Dowsing and use many helpful analogies to get their points across. They also include a bit on some of the Dowsing studies and scientific data.
I especially like their principle that Dowsing “focuses your intuition” and is actually “a part of being fully human.” We all have the capability – but only “with commitment.”
A few interesting things I learned off the top of my head:
Deviceless Dowsing is best, in most cases. Well, this is good to know because you don’t always have a tool by your side when needed – or the looks you might get when you whip out your L-rods at the spur-of-the-moment in public! I have used both but always liked the visual effects of the L-rod movements. I’ll have to reconsider when is best to use them.
Asking the Right Question is of utmost importance – almost like a homework paper you need to work on to fine-tune.
Dowsing correctly is a “brain-balancing activity” and is a combination of “doing and being.” In my view it can help keep your mind young – much like doing crossword puzzles or learning new things as we age.
Finally, they (of course) give you a full routine or sample protocol to follow as a guideline with exercises to work toward achieving the Dowsing State and even some extra tips to enhance your Dowsing Experience.
Something they said about Dowsing struck home that I have to remember:
“It is a skill to master…There are no shortcuts to mastery.” I think I’ll start by finding out How to Ask the Right Question along with this Dowsing State protocol. This will definitely help me take my Dowsing to a whole new level.
Thank you Nigel and Maggie for this beautiful manual, and also the free copy for Advance reading.
In one simple sentence “This would be a Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) Manual of Dowsing".
When I started reading this a thought was to complete in phases, but finished reading in 1 sitting.
It has mention to all possible steps that need to be undertaken while dowsing.
As in an SOP it mentions the books / manuals that can be read or referred to. This will help in in-depth understanding of various steps that are followed.
Whether it be Precautions, The right question, Pitfalls etc.... No other book I have read earlier describes the dowsing states. The incorporation of Dowsing State completes the approach for better dowsing experience.
Just finished the 2nd reading for a better clarification.
Your references presented forms special mention.:
1. Brain wave states in action and noting by Dr. Edith Jurka & Ed Stillman
2. Altered state of dowsing.
3. Why a person fails to reach the perfect dowsing state.
The exercises mentioned are quite practical and easily followed.
But you do need to practice it also to perfect it.
Thanks Nigel and Maggie for this perfectly created manual for the people who want to enrich their knowledge and perfect the art of dowsing.
Wishing you to bring our still more knowledgeable issues in future.
Cassandra Eason, Blair Gorman, Tom Graves, Vera Lothian, T. C. Lethbridge, Walt Woods, Judith Orloff, Art Brownstein, Louis Hay, Vicki B. Larock are some of the other good Authors in my collection for detection and healing of energies.
As an advanced reader, I recommended this book to my friends and students as soon as I finished reading it.
