One thing I like about this Spatula is that it is a full tang. Meaning, the blade extended till the end of the handle grip insuring durability. However, the rivets attaching the wood handles both sides are loose you can here them shake. Just like what the other reviewers complained about. Despite of that, I still feel that this spatula is going to last.

After seeing this size, I would have preferred the next size smaller than seven inches. What might work for me better is the 5x3 inches. For now, I will be happy using this but probably will purchase another one in the future.

Update April 20, 2014: Just purchased the Camp Chef Explorer and SG60 Griddle and I was motivated to modify this spatula. So what I did was to wrap around the handle a rubber strip cut from the interior tube of my daughter's bicycle wheel and now there is no loose handle plus a better sticky rubber grip. Also, using the workshop knife sharpener, I bevel the or sharpen the edges a bit on its three sides to make it slide easily under the food I am scooping. Wow, I am loving this fully customized spatula. Hence, I added one more star on my review.

Now, I am thinking of buying the bigger 16x4 inches spatula just to add to my grill tools collection and probably do the same mod.

The metal rattles loosely between the wooden handle pieces. While it does work, poor assembly and quality standards which should have been caught at the time of manufacture ...

for half of ten dollars, i no longer have to worry about breaking fish fillets apart with a flimsy plastic spatula.

i kept breaking salmon and flounder filets while cooking in a cast iron skillet. cooking with cast iron is the easiest. you spray a thin filet and turn it on a skillet on low and just walk away for a while. but flipping it is hard with plastic or hard rubber spatula ends. they grab the flesh and break it apart. this thin metal one gets underneath it, and stretches a good distance along a filet of fish. i will get a better one later, but in a pinch this one works just fine. maybe next year we can spend the money on a commercial grade; but for now, this one works quite well. for the price, i get to practice until i can afford a really good one. but today i made marinaded salmon fillets with a 3-quart cast skillet. cooked for a while, and slid the blade underneath. they came right up, not breaking the skin. that deserves five stars for an item of this price range.

This spatula must be mass produced with no quality control at the end....I had to sand the wood handle then refinish it because of it's roughness....I cant figure out why Amazon would sell something this cheap in quality.

Can't understand why something labeled stainless steel would develop little pinpoint rust spots all over it. I didn't leave it soaking in water. Happened on first use. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

This is for the people who, though this item has about 4.5 stars, want to know what is wrong with it. What's wrong is any moron who pays $5.50, including Prime, and expects a $35.00 German heirloom, is not happy with it and gives it 1 star. I am giving it 1 star, because that is all some people read, though for the price and value this is a 5 star deal. You now have the clue, can get on with your life and get this spatula if you need one on the cheap. If you desire plastic, I know I have seen them at the dollar store. This item is mass produced and once in a while you get a dud that Amazon will happily replace until you get one that reflects what they are selling. :-)

Also, the rivets are obviously not stainless steel, they usually aren't. I'd be impressed if they were brass, but who puts wood handled cutlery in the dishwasher anyway? Might as well put the cast iron pan in with it. Come on folks, use a little common sense. If an item's description does not tell you something, expect the worst case scenario. These rivets are obviously regular steel and it rusts if you let it sit in water. Just hand wash and put a little vegetable oil on the handle to keep it from drying out and this should last a long time.

This is a heavy duty spatula and should be used for large objects. The grill is perfect or even a large frying pan in the kitchen. If you want for flipping eggs, this is not really what you want as it is large and the metal is thick. Some people have complained about edges, but a little sand paper, a file, a grinder or even an electric knife sharpener will easily allow you to personalize this spatula in a few minutes.

For stainless steel, with a full tang, a wooden handle and three, yes three, rivets and two day delivery, what do you have to lose. It's Amazon guys.

I am very happy with this spatula and mine is not loose at all, very tight. I have a commercial stove in my kitchen with a grill top and this spatula is just what I was looking for. At this price its a steal.

A bit lighter than my others - flimsy, compared to the heavier ones of comparable price that have beveled edges and sit on their blades when I set them down. Not balanced the way I like - it rocks back and rests on the handle when I set it down (not good for an outside griddle). The blade has no bevel. I will not buy another one of this brand. But I have this one, it does work at a basic spatula level, and I will keep it in the rotation. I hand wash everything with a wooden handle!
Update: This one works fine in the kitchen. The balance is not an issue there. I just don't use it outdoors on the griddles.
So, the upgrade from three to five stars.
