Piper Sullivan has a way of bringing the children in her books to life with wildly colorful, funny and quirky joy. So, naturally, the first person I fell in love with in this story was a sunny, bossy little seven-year-old named Sydney.
There is nothing like a seven-year-old’s opinionated point of view on life. What’s fair is fair, what’s right is right. And Syd is not afraid to make the adults in her life tow the line. Especially her daddy.
And her daddy… oh my. Daddy is a busy obstetrician who can’t seem to schedule a decent babysitter. And Daddy’s thoughts had me alternately shaking my head and laughing out loud. Especially if those thoughts were centered on the woman next door.
The woman next door is Rory (“Aurora to you, Doctor”) who really only wants some time and peace and quiet to write her thesis, but somehow ends up as part time babysitter to Sydney. But that gorgeous “snob next door” definitely needs somebody to look out for his little girl. And there is that gorgeous thing he's got going on. Yeah, well. Why’s he so rude??
Fact is, these two can’t stand each other unless they’re… kissing. (That’s a lie, but never mind). And then there’s that book she’s writing… Oh, my. The plot thickens. Best to just stay away from each other.
But, oh, no. Fate and Sydney have other plans. As fate would have it, they have to work together. And Sydney? Well, she knows a good thing when she sees one…
I enjoyed every minute of this HEA, and more than half the fun was getting there.

Rory was super sweet and smart and one of those heroines that you can’t help but like. Overall, I really did like it. Be warned that this ebook ends at 13% but it was still a decent length. 4 Stars #2OCCJD
