Chris Moore and Lexi Cacinicz were college sweethearts. They had a kind of adoring love that came once in a lifetime. They were sure that whatever their future held, they would face it together. He wanted to put a ring on her finger, but then opportunities from across the states, left them with different directions. He chose Digital Institute of Technology in California and she chose a job at Miriam Pratt in Atlanta. They had agreed on a long-distant relationship, but learned quickly that never worked out. Even thought the break-up was hard, they felt it was for the best!
It is five years later that Chris (Now going by the name Patrick) returns home. They both blame the other for their separation. The truth was, she choose to stay in Georgia and he choose to go to California. Equal fault! She chose her mother over Chris. He chose a job over her. Now they had a second-chance, but would they make the right decisions this time?
This is a fun filled read. And they have three friends to “help” them. CeeCee or better know as Candi Caine, Carl, and Jasmine. All three make the story more entertaining.
Chris was very swoon worthy! I found his patience and determination endearing. Lexi has been through a lot so it was great to see her strength come out as the story unfolded.
I really hope Carl’s story is next! Carl was a hoot that was off his rocker! I enjoyed his witty comments.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I had a few concerns: the length of time with no contact and outside forces pushing them together instead of making the choice themselves to fight for love. I also had a hard time liking Lexi. Her character expressed her viewpoints clearly and I understood her dilemma, but I couldn’t get over her hypocrisy. She wasn’t behaving as a partner who allows compromise, communication, support, and commitment to her partner. Which is ironic since this is what she preaches. I expected her to progress in a different direction. This one choice seemed uncharacteristic for her. Lexi’s character was definitely the character that had room to grow.
I really liked Chris. He had good intentions. I felt Chris put more effort in the relationship than Lexi did. Chris seemed motivated and dedicated to advancing on his career goals always keeping Lexi in his future thoughts and plans. Every decision he made was made with Lexi being part of the equation.
I envisioned an entirely different story with the title being Dr. Fellatio. I couldn’t get those preconceived ideas out of my head. I kept waiting to meet this character and when we were finally introduced I felt let down. I expected something naughty and fun. I thought the storyline would center more around Dr. Fellatio. It felt more like a business endeavor instead of a romance. Don’t get me wrong what she offered was good advice. I just thought this story was heading into a completely different direction.
