ZERO stars!!!! I just received the product, immediately opened it and it is rotten! It looks and smells awful. I logged on to start the process of returning just to find a statement saying it is not eligible for returns. So now I have a $40 bottle of something that I have to put in the trash. I don’t like to waste time- that’s why I shop on amazon quite a bit, but far more than that, I HATE to waste money. No more supplements from amazon!!

NOT A TRUE LIPOSOMAL PRODUCT

The item was delivered on time and the seller fulfilled there requirements. It seems however that the Dr. Mercola Liposomal Vitamin C is NOT a real and True Liposomal product. It has the typical sour taste of Ascorbic Acid and was very coarsely crystallized. It is simply a paste that appears to possibly be emulsified and seems to be lacking water. Maybe the water was lost thru the capsule.

In my opinion, a real Liposomal Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) should NOT taste sharpness of the Ascorbic Acid as the Liposomal will hide the sharp acidic taste. The acidic taste should be isolated within the surrounding Liposomal Barrier. I was relying on his branding, I want my money returned and Dr. Mercola should be ashamed as he has used his name on this product! This is the first time I have ever requested a refund on several hundred products purchased from Amazon! I would appreciate a response on this as I do not know how to ask for a refund.

Useful, but not as good as homemade liposomal C

The point of a liposomal formulaton is to enhance the ability of the product (in this case vitamin C) to absorb directly into our cells and have a MUCH more pronounced effect. Some say it's on the level of or even better than IV vitamin C. This product was just OK in my experience. It did:

1) One pill helped me feel a bit more alert (without keeping me awake at night).
2) Two pills (both with and without 1500mgEPA/750mgDHA fish oil taken at same time) very noticeably reduced some gnarly neck pain that had been bothering me for days, and it did so within 30-60 min of taking it. The effect lasted for 2-4 hours. For me, it was better than 400mg ibuprofen (with zero guilt), and worked about the same as a peppermint/lavender essential oil (5%) oil blend rubbed on the neck.

Why just 3 stars then? B/c I have had homemade liposomal Vitamin-C liquid/emulsion made by a non-scientist friend from an online recipe (ascorbic acid, non-GMO lecithin, Bob's Red Mill baking soda, distilled water, ultrasonic bath/cleaner), and later made by myself. Just 1 teaspoon of this mixture gave me a non-"buzzy" energy and a sense of well-being like I had literally NEVER experienced before (until I tried an Emmett Technique session a few years later - that's another story). I don't care if liposomal nutrient company representatives say that homemade recipes don't produce "real liposomes" because for me this was the closest thing to a "magic bullet" health solution I had ever experienced, and I only needed it once every 24-48 hours to maintain that feeling. The only reason I stopped doing it was that I moved to France, so I ordered these pills instead. Yes my standards may be high...but this is a $20 bottle of Vitamin C, so I think we're entitled to high standards here.

What’s that plastic chemical smell coming out of the jar??! I ordered this C before and it was awesome...however this time...the chemical odor coming out of the jar is just counter intuitive to how a health supplement should smell...I took the time to smell ALL OF MY 20+ jars of supplements of different brand and not a single one smells anything similar to this. I feel like I’m smelling the 50c Chinese made plaid bags. What are the capsules made of? I am wary of taking this and looks like I cannot return it...
This is the first time I am so disappointed with a Mercol product:( what happened?? Even the label feels like a cheap made copy. Is this authentic mercola??? Where do I get answers?

This item is not liposomal Vit C. It is a fake product. Please do your research on this brand. I bought it for my dog who has cancer and his kidney values shot up. I am not positive this is the culprit but he gets blood work every month and values went up the same month we started it.

Rancid! Uneasy stomach.

When I opened the bottle I was taken back by the awful smell. Unfortunately I thought maybe it was normal and decided to take one. Thankfully only one instead of the recommended two. Not long later my stomach started feeling uneasy. I looked up the reviews and realized many people have received rancid batches that made them sick. Immediately took activated charcoal but still feel uneasy the next day. SUPER DISAPPOINTED IN MERCOLA! I trusted his products to the point of taking this even when it smelled rancid. My fault.

Mercola's Vit C caplets do not contain liposomes

The first micrograph shows real Liposomes - please note the liposome image is a much smaller width of 0.25mm. This micrograph shows just a few of the larger liposomes. The smaller ones are too small to see on a light microscope from which these images were taken. You would need a Transmission Electron Microscope to actually see the majority of the liposomes which are in the nanometre range. (A nanometre is one thousand-millionth of a metre.) The second Mercola crystalline image is 2.5mm wide. This image shows crystals in suspension mixed with lecithin, there are no liposomes present at all in the caplets.

It is hoped by those selling this supplement, that taking these caplets will produce liposomes within the digestive system. This has not been proven to happen and there is no research to support this theory. With the LET (Liposome Encapsulation Technology), research proves that this delivery system using liposomes works. In fact this technology has been around for many years. LET is very expensive, hence the high price of real Liposomal supplements. Looking for a cheaper version is only natural, but Mercola's is not a cheaper version, because it is not a Liposomal product. I do think that the paying public has the right to know what they are buying.

I think Dr Mercola does a great service to those of us who want to go the natural route, but in this case, I think he should come clean about what this product really is and make it plain that the caplets contain no liposomes at all. He should also confirm that the supposition that his supplement will make liposomes once it has been ingested, is just a theory and has not been proven.

This product does not contain liposomes, it's a pure lie and given the astronomical price, a complete rip-off.

I looked further into this product when I felt zero benefits and had doubts about the efficacy, I was appalled to find out the product does not contain liposomal vitamin c. Another customer actually viewed the product under a microscope and posted micrographs showing the product contains no liposomes.

Dr Mercola is now synonymous with lies and ripping-off people. I'll never buy another Dr Mercola product ever, and encourage others to do the same, don't make this thief and liar become rich off our desires for health.

Very disappointed product quality. It’s supposed to be liquid vitamin C capsules when I opened a capsule it contained a sticky solid substance and not liquid. I have always taken little summer vitamin C from other brands of superior Quality. Considering that this is an expensive product by a reputable doctor one expects to receive a better quality. I would not buy this product again

Hopefully the real thing- update:it came to my attention recently after some search online that this is not the real deal but vitamin c with the engredients that might, potentially ,create the encapsulate Vitamine C in liposomes in your own stomach ( witch is not what I was expecting regardless of the efficiency of my own stomach to create liposomes ) I think this product can be very misleading and the information is not clear about that... next time I will purchase Altrient C eggs yolks .

Ps: for the price they should offer a ultrasound cleaner with it

This bottle was a very different experience - the capsule contents look different and they are totally ineffective (I am very responsive to vitamin C and can feel it working).
