Yeah the price is kinda high for Funimation, but you can always just wait for them to release the entire season like they do everything else. I went ahead and got it because I wanted to get the hard limited edition slip cover from the 2nd set. It’s an interesting and unique Shonen. It’s shonen through and through, but it’s different than anything else I’ve come across, and for that reason I’d recommend it. The animation is also really well done. If you’re unsure about pulling the trigger read some of the manga online or watch some of the first episode to get an idea if it’s something you may like.

Love the scientific aspect of the show, obviously not 100% accurate (i.e. smartphone != radio). This show gives a good sense of the tremendous number of steps needed to create things that we take advantage of everyday. Cannot wait for Season 2 (not s1pt2 that Amazon is selling as season 2, time to fix that terminology Amazon).

The series is pretty solid, even as someone who can't remember most science, this series makes science extremely interesting, inspiring, and fun.

The only downsides are the first 4 episodes not being very good from what I could tell, it get's great after that though, and also the animation is pretty lacking.

The series goes for much more detailed artwork, which is fine, but it leads to the animation not being very fluid, it's honestly rather stiff.

There's also the overarching conflict, which some people dislike, while I actually enjoy it and every aspect of the series, post the first four episodes.

Overall I think this is a great series to add to your shelf, but if you're not willing to spend the money for 12 episodes, the manga is available on amazon.

As for some nitpics, there's some extremely jarring english in a later episode, it really clashes with the Japanese. This doesn't make me recommend dub over sub however, because the Japanese voice cast is far superior to Funimations, which is just....okay, be fair that was simuldub so it might be better now.

Another nitpic is that there are some brief shots that are pretty fanservice-y, but the ignorant likely won't get them, and they're almost insignificant in terms of length
