About the authors
Jaap Boekestein (1968) is an award winning Dutch writer of science fiction, fantasy, horror, thrillers and whatever takes his fancy. Five novels, a few novella's and over three hundred of his stories have been published. His has made his living as a bouncer, working for a detective agency and as editor.
Since 2015 he mostly writes for the English market. His story "Kitty Cross Saves the World" ended up with a honorable mention of the Roswell Award 2017. In 2019 his crime story "Long Overdue" won the second place of the Bill Crider Prize for Short Fiction.
I was born in Hull and I've loved books from an early age. I read English at The University of Hull before graduating in Social Sciences with The Open University. I'm really pleased that Hull won the U.K. City of Culture 2017 as I saw what it did for Liverpool.
I never thought I'd write poetry. But I was drawn to a book on Haiku in 2014. I started working with this form towards the end of that year. I had 'Hearts of the matter' commended in a National Magazine. Some of my other poems appear in a 2016 International anthology with all proceeds to Rescue animals.
In 2018, I've contributed to the album 'Safe and warm' by 'Musicians for homeless' with a monologue kindly read by the actor Ian Ralph. Please support those less fortunate.
WINNER: November 2019 - 'The Hermit' - Blue Animal Literature @BlueLiterature .
Poetry can be just as weighty as a novel. It's condensed but not watered down. I'm currently working on fiction projects. Short stories and poems have appeared in The Horror Tree: Trembling With Fear, Penumbric Speculative Fiction Magazine, Aphotic Realm, Rune Bear, Detritus, Fiction Kitchen Berlin, The Cabinet of Heed, Nymphs, Spelk, Eerie River, Dodging The Rain, InkPantry, Red Cape Publishing and more.
I hope you enjoy reading the fictions and poems as much as I did shaping them.
Horror Anthologies:

Peter lives with his wife and five children in a small town in Sussex, England. For as long as he can remember it had always been an ambition to complete a novel and, after the success of his debut, The Broken Doll, it has been fantastic to have the opportunity to turn a hobby into a new career. Since the release of The Broken Doll in February 2017, Peter has released the follow-up novel, Shattered Pieces, as well as seven collections of short horror stories, a horror novella, and three children's books. From the heart of Scotland, Natasha Sinclair is an independent writer, editor and artist. Working under her brand ‘Clan Witch’ for her creative endeavours and ‘Word Refinery’ for editorial works.
Her writing is often woven with horror, sex and psychological elements. She loves to frolic in the darkness with folklore and the macabre and rich history of her homeland.
Art is unrestrained freedom, as is how storytellers choose to wield the fluid movement and global diversity of language to carve captivating and authentic tales that woe, excite or terrorise an audience. Sinclair passionately embraces that, painting original characters with true form, dialect and depth. The devil is in the details.
She is the co-conspirator of ‘Brazen Folk Horror’ with her writing partner, Ruthann Jagge. The Brazen Folk Horror duo’s debut collaborative novel, ‘Delevan House’ releases in February 2023.
Sinclair is a member of The Horror Writers Association (HWA) and The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).

Wendy has been writing for several anthologies, short fiction, and breaking out into novels now. She writes under her pen name W.M. Dawson. She often is lurking on social media when pondering too many story arcs.

Alanna Robertson-Webb is a rising star among short story writers, and one of the anthologies she is featured in (Monsters, by Black Hare Press) has been nominated for a 2019 Bram Stoker Award. Additionally, the novella she co-wrote (Storming Area 51: Horror at the Gates) reached the #1 spot in Amazon's sci-fi books in October of 2019.
Her stories are often infused with hair-raising horror, and her paranormal tales in particular add just the right amount of darkness to keep her readers intrigued.
For Alanna the spooky side of writing is a riviting journey through the human psyche, so whether you are looking for some of her wholesome horror (Monstronomicon by Haunted House Publishing) or wish to be transported into one of her grimmer worlds (Death and Butterflies by Suicide House Publishing) then grab a book and embark on a thrilling read!

His works have been published in numerous anthologies and magazines and have been featured on various web-based offerings, including the Horror Tree, the Sirens Call, Deadman's Tome, Fantasia Divinity Magazine, Sanitarium Magazine, and many more. While appreciating an array of genres, his favorite to both read and write in is Horror, because he's just plain weird like that!
Winters is an avid listener of all things hard-rock and heavy-metal, a compendium of comic-book knowledge, can (and will) do a perplexing array of voice impersonations, and can bend his thumbs further back than any person should have the right/capability of doing. It is all quite odd . . .

My name is Andrew Kurtz and I am a horror author.
I have not published any novels as of yet, but am in numerous anthologies, which you can view by going to my author link.
As a child I have loved horror, whether it was watching a horror film or reading horror literature.
I am a comic book collector and have an extensive library of book, mainly horror and science fiction.
If you ask me what my favorite horror film is, I can not answer because there are so many that I love.
Jason Voorhees murders at CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE, Michael Myers slaughters in HADDONFIELD, Freddy Kruger causes nightmares on ELM STREET, and I write horror short stories.
My vampires do not drink blood, they devour it. The werewolves in my stories do not resemble four legged dogs, but bipedal monstrosities that have an undying bloodlust during the full moon.
If you are looking for happy endings then do not read my stories because will be disappointed.
My characters die in the most gory manner possible and whether the are new born infants or 90 year old does not matter.
We all love dogs and cats. In my stories they are torn to pieces while still alive.
My human monsters are not who they seem to be because my tales of terror are full of twists and turns.

The drabbles vary in style and premise and horror subgenre. The drabble poems range from dark and flowing to horrifying. The drabble subgenres include psychological horror, revenge horror, supernatural horror, creature horror, extreme horror, horror horror, and others that defy definition. Each one is executed to tickle and torment a different part of your brain, of your fears, of your nightmares.
I did not find one I didn’t like, and I would be hard pressed to point out favorites with so many to choose from—156 in all! But I will mention this one:
“The Chair” by Mary Kiefel … I felt it in my soul.
Whether you are a fan of drabbles, new to drabbles, unsure about drabbles, or don’t care one way or another, you should check out this collection of stories for the shear quality of the stories themselves. This is a 5-star, shelf-worthy book for one’s library and reading pleasure.
I would have given this four stars had the stories been less uneven. For every really good story, there was one or two which could have been better if the formula had been tossed.
Never having read flash fiction before, I am amazed at how much can be said with so few words.
Try this for a change. It is worth it.
