About the Author
Temrick's been writing short stories and novelettes since his father gave him "Treasure Island" for his 6th birthday. While his stories were always for personal enjoyment and those of his friends and relatives, his wife convinced him that he should share his gifts with others. www.davidtemrick.com

The story revolves around Tristan who may be the Prince of a prophesy to bring back dragon magic into the world. The first few chapters are going to be confusing and you may suspect bad editing but it is actually intentional and you will see why after about 2 chapters, original twist in my years of fantasy reading.
There is the usual sword and sorcery, the family, and others picked up along the way. All comes together for a very good story that kept my attention which is a bit of why I give this 4 stars rather than 5, the author had no problem killing off characters you had grown to like, close to the end there is one character that is very important and we get to find out very little about and it appears he died but we are still told almost nothing about him (or even if he actually died). I don't care for callousness with characters and I dislike glaring questions that are left unanswered, BUT it should be mentioned that if it was not such an excellent story none of that would matter.
Bottom Line: Highly recommended for fantasy lovers like myself, there are some complaints but that is true of almost any novel but i did drop my rating to 4 Stars which is still exceptional. I look forward to seeing where book 2 takes us on this story but let me be clear that this novel can be read as a stand alone since there are no cliffhangers but i did have a few questions which I assume will be touched on in book 2.
Overall a great novel. There were some grammatical errors and pacing problems, but it didn't detract from the overall story. I will definitely read the whole series!
Draconis’ Bane by David Temrick, is the first book in the Blood Feud series. It’s about one ruling family that has dragon blood in their veins. The middle child, a son, is spelled to think he’s eight years old, living in an abusive home, but with the help of his family, he breaks free of the spell and goes on a quest to find the person responsible. I’m a huge fan of fantasy, and dragons are some of my favorite creatures to read about.
BUT I had a hard time getting through this book. The sentences were a bit convoluted and needed a bit of editing and the main character, never struggles with any of the battles. I DID enjoy the dragon lore. That was well thought out.
Unfortunately, the different writing style and stilted dialogue just detracted from the promising story.
