2.0 out of 5 stars Nice illustrations let down by poor print quality, and presentation. Buyer beware.

Pre-ordered this item months ago, it arrived today. Sadly, it is not the quality I naturally assumed it would be- you could not gift this item without feeling very cheap and probably embarrassed. If you are buying it for yourself, I feel it’s very overpriced for the quality. The illustrations are very good, but they are let down by the poor quality of print. The cards are very thin, and have a “homemade” print quality to them; they are not laminated like typical playing cards. The box they come in are essentially of the same paper quality- again, very cheap feeling, and the deck is maybe half an inch tall, so it feels pretty chinzy. It didn't even come shrinkwrapped so again, very homemade feeling. (For contrast in visual presentation, the other deck in the photo comes in a beautiful, hard laminated box, fully illustrated even with a surprise picture inside the lid which is a lovely detail.) If this item was $5-7, I’d say that was OK. But at $17 Cndn/$13 USD it is overpriced and disappointing. Sorry.
