Several of the episodes on the disks don't play at all and boot you out to the main menu. Other episodes skip and jump all over or pause and won't play thru. Disk one is particularly problematic. I've returned two of the three discs sets, both purchased on Amazon, and got refunds. The seller on eBay refused my refund request claiming he no longer used the disc company that sold him these discs because of these problems.. I have given up on trying to buy the 1967 set for now. The 1968 disks work perfectly. Hopefully the next generation of 1967 discs will be fixed. BUYER BEWARE!
As for the headline? Jack Webb introduced my parents at a weekend party of his back in 1960, when times were even simpler, and Dragnet was still black & white. I'll never not watch it.
The series is great and is as I remember it. I will say this though, the 1950's DRAGNET is superior even if it was in black and white. Actually being in black and white enhanced the atmosphere of the show. You can find some of these episodes in DRAGNET THE BIG COLLECTION here at AMAZON.
