Dragon Age Inquisition is, if anything, massive. It features a host of interesting characters and full regions to explore. You play as the inquisitor and your race and class may play a part in how the world and characters react around you. The game is a little slow to start, but the more hours you put into inquisition, the more you'll get out of it. There a number of issues with the game, but the positives outweigh the negative.

For the first few hours, I wasn't entirely sold on the game. I expected the game to be more focused like the previous entries, but instead I got a game with fetch quests that told me to go here and go there. Eventually, the game opens up for the better and you realize that everything you do is for the bigger picture.

Pros:

- Amazing world to explore, huge regions filled with tons of side content
- Incredibly well done main story missions. Your choices will have an impact, and they are quite lengthy.
- Fun combat system -- more depth than Dragon Age II
- The game only gets better. I liked the game for the first twenty hours, but eventually I fell in love with it
- Tons, and I mean tons, of lore for people to read. You will find hundreds of tidbits of information.
- War Table is great. Inquisition perks, customizing sky hold, pursuing a romance... There is plenty to do in Thedas.
- The game is beautiful. Every area is wonderful and the world of Thedas seems much larger than it ever did before
- The soundtrack. Wow.
- Tons of references to events in past games. Your DA Keep World State will matter.
- Co op multiplayer has its moments.

Cons:

- Some mundane side quests
- Jumping and mounts feel clunky
- Tactical camera is iffy at times.

About 20 hours in, and I'm enjoying this game so much I'm losing sleep over it! The story immediately pulled me in, though I had to laugh when I played over an hour just to see the title screen finally show up. (I like to do side quests and explore in my RPGs).

It's graphically quite beautiful, and the exploration plus both forms of combat really open the game up. I like using both combat systems, and while the level designs were lacking on DA:2, I was one of the people that loved that game (so you know where I'm coming from), mostly because the combat for playing a rogue was much improved upon Origins' terrible AI movement.

I was actually surprised by how quickly the story and motivations pulled me into this game. I shouldn't have been; BioWare is fantastic when it comes to characterization and story. Regardless, this game achieves one of those very hard things to do that so many other games I play fail at: it makes me forget I'm playing a game. I'm so absorbed in every aspect of it. It's completely engrossing, and transports me into the world of Thedas. This is, quite frankly, an RPG after my own heart. It's easily the best installment in the Dragon Age franchise, and one I'm far more likely to replay for that very same reason.

If you are an RPG fan, you owe it to yourself to give this game a real shot. I honestly can't believe why there are so many negative user reviews. People are too angry and bitter and their venom shows. 1 Star? Really? That is not an honest assessment.

Inquisition easily makes it into my top three RPG video games of all time, and for that reason I'm confident to give it 10/10. Not to 'balance the negative reviews', and not to say that any game is ever truly perfect (there's always room for improvement), but because it delivers in spades everything I love about RPG games and rich storytelling.

Negate the hate! Do what you love.

I'm not totally done with it but after having spent alot of time with it I'm loving it. The world is rich with life and narrative. The characters are well done and the dialog interesting. Very similar to previous DA titles but with alot of improvement.

I'm surprised at the comments about the graphics on PS4. Really? They are mind blowing. Yes the lip synch is pretty off but that doesn't affect the game world whatsoever. Some times i just go on walks to enjoy the scenery.

There is alot of complexity and depth. So many things to find so just wander around and go everywhere as you never know where it is going to lead. You can do whatever you want in what order you want so it feels very free.

Excellent game and arguably the first "true" must have RPG for the PS4 and XB1. If you are a fan of DA this is required play. If you are a big fan of JRPG, you won't like this game. If you love D&D, you should like this game, but I won't guarantee you'll love it as it does leave a lot to be desired. Long story short, this game is NOT better than Origins. It IS better than DA2, but depends upon the story and background of DA2 than of Origins, so just beware. You do return to Ferelden and you finally enter Orlais, but gone are Denerim, Kirkwall, Orzamar, and the vast underground of the Deep Roads. There is the pleasant "nostalgia" factor without recycling more of the same (as DA2 did ad nauseum ad infinitum). I enjoy this game and am addicted to it for the time being. It is not overly challenging and sadistically frustrating (Alien Isolation), but it is also not a total pushover. Newbies will like the interface better than us geezers. Honestly, I wonder if they kept the tactical mode in just to make us happy when it borders on unnecessary. The story is underwhelming, but not so much that you get bored or lose interest. I guess the main reason for the "meh" factor was the big bad who simply lacks the "HOLY S***" factor of the Origins Archdemon requiring freakin' catapults to injure. Also, I just didn't feel the same emotional attachment to the many choices I had to make in this game. Origins was full of painful decisions in which somebody always got to rip you a new one. Here, you could make a decision that would make you a royal A-hole, but you're STILL the greatest good guy in the world. That kind of makes no sense and deprives your die hard D&D fan that sense of "hmm, but I like being Lawful Evil!!" In that regard the Fallout games will always stomp DA.
