The Definitive Collection Continues!!
Season Four contains the complete Garlic Jr., Trunks and Android sagas on 6 discs.
Having returned victorious from their battle with Frieza, the Z-fighters can at last breathe a collective sigh of relief But they wont have long to rest. A new host of villains has appeared, ready to wreak havoc on the Earthand Goku, the Z-Fighters greatest hero is still missing!
In the face of these new dangers, a mysterious youth with Super Saiyan powers has come bearing a bleak prediction for the future: in just three years time, an evil greater than any the Z-Fighters have ever faced will emerge to cast a shadow of destruction and despair over the Earth. And if the young Saiyans prediction is correct, the Z-Fighters will have to train like they have never trained before in order to have any hope against these seemingly unstoppable foesthe Androids!
Goku is still missing in action after the destruction of the planet Namek, as the fourth season of Dragon Ball Z opens. With Goku unavailable, Gohan and the other Z-fighters must defeat Garlic Jr., who has reemerged from the Dead Zone with his accomplices, the Spice Boys. Gohan saves the Earth by ramping up his powers and destroying the planet Makyo, the source of Garlic's strength. Before the dust can settle a new menace arrives: A largely robotic version of Frieza and his more powerful father, King Cold. These villains are easily dispatched by a new Super Saiyan: Trunks, the illegitimate son of Vegeta and Bulma. Trunks has come from the future to save Goku from what would have been a fatal heart virus. Goku must live to prevent the Artificial Humans created by Dr. Gero from ravaging the Earth. (Gero was one of the leaders of the Red Ribbon Army, which Goku destroyed in Dragon Ball.) But Trunks' mission may have altered the future in ways he didn't intend: Instead of two Androids, there are three, all programmed to kill Goku. The season ends on a cliffhanger, with the fate of the Z-Fighters--and the Earth--hanging in the balance. Trunks' visit creates a number of paradoxes, including the problem of his existing as an adult and an infant in the same space-time. However, these questions are unlikely to trouble Dragon Ball fans, who will be too busy watching Vegeta training at 450 gravities, Gohan mastering his latent powers, Goku's new combat move, and any number of battles, not to mention the comic relief of Krillin's courtship of Maron and Master Roshi's continued lechery. Some of these epsiodes were recut into the feature The History of Trunks. (Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, alcohol and tobacco use, ethnic stereotypes) --Charles Solomon

Coming Soon Dragon Ball Z Season Five Review
Now there is a bigger threat looming in the shaddows and now with Goku on his way home Earths special forces are going to need to train long and hard so when the next menace arrives they will be ready.
I agree with all the other people that have reviewed this season. These three sagas following the Frieza saga are just fillers for a break in the action from the next big menacing force, but if you think about it that's how it has been since season 1! First came Vegita then a break then Frieza and now another break. So whenever this new menace comes around (I know who it is but I would rather be respectable to all the first time watchers of DBZ)there will obviously be another break in the action once the next major villian is put to rest.
Its a WONDERFUL collection. I just love it. If you are a DBZ fan, you must get it!!!!!

my only snag (for me anyway) is its just shame the funimation voices aint as good as the ocean voices, but i do like the fact the sound is in 5.1 (and it sounds amazing) considering its using the japans mono audio the cleanup of both sound and music is amazing i just feel the voiceover work isnt as pashionat nore sound as amazing as the ocean voices, as an alternative you can listen to the origonal mono audio with the Japanese voices and the subtitiles get all the lines right too.
so in short the HD remaster of both sound and picture makes for an amazing show that can now be seen and heard the way it was ment to be... just not acted out in the right voice dub (Ocean voices instead of the funimation ones would be the ultimate re-master of the show)
the androids 19 and 20 arriving 5 miles south west of south city lol. as usual Bruce falconer does a brill job with the music.
the only annoying thing in this box is the garlic jr filler episodes. as a fan il watch um just there more aimed at setting up gohan in season 6 as the new hero of earth. at least he is not saiya man yet. the cell saga is season 4-6 so if your just after that saga you will need season 4,5,6. all in all a great part of anime history just a shame with garlic jr.
Although one will have to settle for a few revised lines here and there as opposed to a completely re-vised English soundtrack, it's still fantastic. All the voice actors were completely into their characters at this point so It's an absolute joy to hear them in complete dolby 5.1 sound.
This release is definitely fantastic for the price/value trade off and is an absolute treat for any long/short term Dragon Ball Z fan or people watching for the first time. Definitely reccomended.
