For a Kinect game this is easily one of the most active games I have played granted I have only probably played about 10 different ones. That being said you really don't have down time once you have committed to a fight, whether you're on the offensive or defensive you got to be moving. Man I felt really out of shape after playing this I could only play a few matches before stopping. I really love this game definitely my favorite Kinect game.

Bought for my son last Christmas, just now getting around to rating a bunch of stuff. I can't give this a good rating because it didn't work right for him. This game comes with a hat you're supposed to wear, looks like the super saiyan crazy hair. Unfortunately the Kinect sees the hat as his head, and his head as shoulders or something and gets all sorts of confused as to what he's actually doing. The movements are all wrong when wearing it, and without it, I guess the game doesn't work right either.

He played it a couple times and gave up. It's collected dust since.

First of all, I'd like to say I didn't know much about Dragon Ball Z before I played this game. So far, I've played about 3 hours. Is it fun? YES! Is it worth 40 dollars? NO, not unless you're a diehard fan of DBZ. You can choose from several characters, and either play the story mode or just the challenge mode. Unlocking characters is done through winning matches in the story mode. The game is pretty much a game of punching and weaving. Sometimes, the kicks work, and sometimes they don't. The combination moves on the left of the screen are hard to perform because you can only perform them certain times. You must charge up the first move by staying in a pose for the second move to be activated, and unleash the special move. This is no PowerUP Heroes. PowerUP Heroes responds very well, while this game responds well to only punches, and upper body moves. Some of the stances have to be real precise for them to move, like having one foot in front of the other while holding out your opposite arm in a rearward position. DBZ is fun, the cut scenes are fun to watch, but it wasn't what I was expecting. The leg motions are what really destroy this game. If you like to play with a mat below your feet, most of the kicks will not work. Once I removed the mat, the kicks register much better, but not an acceptable amount. My largest gripe is having the special moves on the left of the screen to work at any time. Once they do work though, there is a decent amount of satisfaction. Most of the time playing, I'm guessing what the game wants me to do, and doesn't allow me to do what I'd like to do, or I just have to figure out when the cut scene is going to end.
This will be a good pickup in a few months for 20 dollars. I recommend this game, but at a lower price. DBZ would have been a must purchase for 1600 MS points, but questionable for 40 dollars.

The Kinect with this game can be a problem. It doesn't seem to detect as well and that can stress out adult or even teenage players. My young kids of 6 and 8 love it. It is fun for them and it is some real exercise while gaming. As a parent I am thrilled to see that.

Games that get my kids up off thier butts always have my vote as long as they keep the child wanting to play.

    Where to start,

    1. Very frustrating, the Xbox Kinect has a long way to go in the perceivable future, let just hope that Microsoft has Improved it with the Xbox One version.

    2. Not much creativity, It's basically Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi with the controls dubbed for the Kinect, and got rid of the custom character maker.

    3. To much to remember, the tutorials are long and lengthy, and there is to much to remember, and it takes the Kinect awhile the be able to read the pose your doing.

    4. I would have to say as a DBU (Dragon Ball Universe) fan for well over 12-14 years, I first started watching Dragon Ball Z in my kindergarten year of school and loved it ever since, now I'm twenty one and I would have to say, "No thanks". If your a DBU fan, then I give you fair warning steer clear of this particular v-game.

    Kinect
