That's one level, but this book is about so much more. It's about finding a family when your blood family is put out of reach. It's about living off your dreams when you've got nothing else. It's about learning who to trust and the danger of going it alone. It's about learning how to be a friend, and accepting friendship in turn. It's even about the hard lesson that life scares everyone, even adults who ought to be leading the way. The final lessons are about selfless love and heroism, and one stubborn dragon-girl bringing about the unthinkable. And of course, it's about chocolate.
I read this book in one sitting and plan to buy a dozen hardcovers to give away. I don't keep a lot of print books at my house, as shelf space is limited, but this one is getting a place of honor.
