Who doesn't think Rayne rocks? (a.k.a Torullin), but in this installment he's just fantastic as he steps into the big boy boots and owns his future, he steps into the power he's destined to wield, and so many many times I was so swept up by the pure emotion in this story that I cried (quite a lot actually), so make sure you have the tissues ready.
What amazes me about this series is how fast a book flies by, it sucks you in and refuses to let you go, their emotions become your emotions, and their journey becomes yours. There were also so many really brilliant lines, and profound observations, that I wish I'd kept a list of them! In this series I feel like I'm not just reading a book, I'm taking a journey, I'm feeling the inner walls of magic and going through the peaceful world of the Quinla. Wow, the imagery is fantastic, it feels real, you can see everything Davidson describes, and I am constantly in awe of her imagination.
I'm so glad I read this, through the tears and all, and remember, there are no stairs. Man, that got me!!! I can't wait to read the next one!!!
It is superb! Emotive, (so emotive), swift (it flies by much too fast), and as real as you are. I loved it. It was an absolutely brilliant read (and no I can't tell you anything about it because I'll give the big surprises away). - No spoilers here! 10 stars! (out of 5)
This book is powerful, in more ways than one.
