This book is a collection of artist Laura Reynolds dragon line drawing she produced on the way to full-color commissions. The line art has been cleaned up, but not sanitized. The result is a peek into the art and process of the internationally recognized cryptobiologist and flight expert resulting from decades of raptor rescue. The nature of the drawings are detailed enough for adults, but also attractive to young adults. The images are printed on only one side of the pages so they can be torn out and displayed.

About the author

2015 Pulitzer Prize Nominee, (for his book "Stoneheart") and an Amazon Bestselling author, Baer Charlton holds a degree in Social-Anthropology from the University of California at Irvine. His many interests have led him around the world in search of the different and unique.
As an internationally recognized photojournalist, he tracked mountain gorillas, was a podium for a Barbary Ape, communicated in sign language with an Orangutan named Boolon, kissed a kangaroo, and many other wild experiences in between--or he was just monkeying around.
There are no more complex and wonderful stories than ones coming from human experience. Mr. Charlton's stories are all driven by the characters you come to think of as friends, if not family.

The paper is, unfortunately (and probably I should have given the book 4 stars because of this), quite thin, but as it is clearly stated to be a colored-pencil coloring book, one would expect that. However, to make up for this, it's very smooth quality and "bright white," so that the colors seem luminous and, if you like to blend your colors, they blend together perfectly. It erases well and "wears" well. As always, you should put something--thicker paper, cardstock, whatever you prefer--underneath the page you're coloring, so that the next picture in the book won't get dents in it if you bear down on your pencil(s). Pictures are on one side only. The smaller size of the book works very well, especially for me with my physical limitations.
I loved this book so much that I ordered the second one in the series as soon as I'd colored two pictures in this one! I very much hope that there will be a third and a fourth and.... you get the idea!
Love the story line!!
If I color any of these I will have to copy them onto thicker paper.
