Modern day: Brigid O'Neil is an antic dealer who finds old relics and antics. She is sent a mysterious Sword with a dragon on it with Celtic ancient words written on it. The note says she must return the sword to it owner. After further study investigation of when and were to take the swords Brigid whines up in Scotland guided there by a fae and she is plummeted back in time to 1205 were she meets Duncan the owner of the sword. Duncan recognizes his sword but know it has to be given back to him from Brigid. So they travel together waiting for the proper moment for her to give him back the sword, she will know when the time is right. Duncan and Brigit fall in love. But Duncan is still unable to forgive himself for his sisters death.
I like both the tortured hero Duncan and Modern day Brigid the made a very good couple. They had a hot sexy and sensuous relationship going on. It pretty erotic but not to many sex scenes just enough to say they were erotic. I like the scene were Brigid is told her family linage the O'Neill's are the first clan descended from the fae.
The story is good but lacks cohesiveness. It drag at times. The World building of the Fae is excellent and the characters are well written. I really enjoyed Dragon Knight's Sword!!
Ms. Morgan has created an ancient world of myth that pulled me from chores (had to find out what happened next) and just about everything else. The gist is that in ancient times, the druids, fae, and dragons created the Dragon Knights, four brothers charged with protecting the last dragon. Each is given a "relic" and power over one element. Evil is infusing the land and its people causing anger and hatred. There is a feud between the Dragon Knights and a neighboring clan that comes to a head when Meggie (the only sister) falls in love with the enemy. Meggie is killed and the relics are taken from the brothers.
Duncan carries a sword and rules the skies. Don't make him mad - it is not pretty.
Brigid is our modern woman, on a trip to Scotland where she is separated from her group, wanders into a mist and travels back to the 13th century. She is Duncan's destiny, brought by the fae and druids to help Duncan redeem himself and cleanse his sword of the evil of that night. The relationship between Duncan and Brigid is slow to develop. She does have to relinquish her skepticism about what has happened to her. He isn't helping.
Ms. Morgan paints such vivid pictures of the time, the people, the food and clothes, I was pulled in and didn't want to leave.
(Order of the Dragon Knights, 1 )
Duncan McKay will do absolutely anything to lift the horrible curse from his family no matter the cost. But his plans end up changing when he encounters the woman who haunts his dreams and is from the future. She has his missing sword and can also talk to the Dragon who is able to lift his curse, but will she be strong enough to do this?
Brigid O'Neill has spent her life listening and learning the mythological legends from Ireland and Scotland. Then after an ancient sword addressed to her shows up at her shop she starts dreaming of a rugged highlander so she drops everything and takes on the quest of a lifetime that will alter everything she believes.
Before the journey ends, not only will Duncan and Brigid battle an ancient curse, they must also find the courage to believe in the destiny that has brought them together.
Mary Morgan is absolutely incredible. This lady knows how to blend history and paranormal all into one book. Once I picked up this book I could not put it down and bought the rest of the series right away. Ms. Morgan has a talent that astounds me and I can't wait to read more from her.
