Gavra, Assana and Silas are at the center of Book 4. These fated mates from different races, long to complete their bond, but know they must concentrate on the greater good first. It was truly torture for the virgin nymph Assana, the waiting literally drove her to the brink of insanity.
This installment has several gasp worthy twists...
Has Nikhil finally redeemed himself?
What is the enemy plotting in that secret facility?
What of Aodh?
I love that Ophelia Bell writes the dragon menages hot, hot, hot...so hot they burn up the pages, but their stories are so intricately woven into the plot line that they only add to the brilliant entertainment that is this Immortal Dragons series. The first four books have been bundled...I highly recommend you don't miss this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of Dragon Rebel.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
This book is a very highly sexually charged read. If you have sexual triggers this may not be the book for you. It contains bondage, submissive and Dom scenarios, sex with multiple partners sometimes of the same sex, coercion and some bestiality moments (which is to be expected since it does involve dragons, nymphs, satyrs and other mythical creatures).
That said if you want to experience some out worldly sex this is the book for you. Our main triad is Assana our nymph, Garva our red dragon and Silas our ursa. Assana is for all purposes a highly sexualized virgin. Her blood is drawn to Garva but if she gives into her desires now she may lose herself and give into her animal side. Silas keeps her from going over the edge and eases her pent up sexual energy that Garva is causing. Silas is the balance in the relationship.
What do you do when you finally find your perfect mates and your insane demi-god of a mother is trying to use one of your mates to repopulate your species? Nyx has lost the balancing male energies in her life and she has come unhinged and is determined to make everyone pay for an old hurt, nothing like a few millennia to keep a grudge going.
Assana, Garva and Silas have to keep a handle on their hungers for each other and the need to bond and mark each other, while trying to keep Nyx from starting an interspecies war. Due to her position Assana was not allowed certain reliefs that other nymphs have had and she is struggling very hard to keep herself from giving in to the building desires while she tries to figure out a way to maneuver around her mother and restore balance and peace.
We meet a dizzying array of characters and since some of the relationships are triads, and some have four it does get a little confusing at times. Some have ugly histories when another subjugated them, some have changed totally since their release that they are not recognizable at first sighting. It can be a bit overwhelming at times to keep up.
The author does paint a very vibrant picture of the different locations and the characters. The sex scenes are very steamy and varied. Maybe the sense of overwhelm is a way to show the urgency of the situation? Either way prepare for a fully developed world with mythical creatures, humans, lush locales and super charged sex.
There is one set of characters that the story revolves around, but all the characters from the previous stories have a big part in it. We get to continue to see the previous characters relationships grow and see some of what may come in future books. The story is very in depth and gets intense at times. It isn't just about sex and mating, but thankfully those scenes are plentiful and great. Ophelia keeps writing books they will have you begging for the next one.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
