Tara and Cobi, sister and brother, move to the island of GreatLog to take up monster farming. Soon after, the island starts to sink into the ocean, forcing the siblings to find, capture, breed, and train an army of Dragon Warrior monsters to save their beloved GreatLog. Dragon Warrior: Monsters 2, Tara's Adventure features the daring Tara, while her brave brother Cobi is featured in the linkable companion title Dragon Warrior: Monsters 2, Cobi's Journey.

Combined, these releases let you collect more than 300 engaging monsters from up to 11 monster families as you explore strange and mysterious worlds. Each version offers exclusive monsters and items. While these games play fine by themselves, you'll need to link up or purchase both to collect all the items and creatures. Each title has different hidden quests accessible only with secret keys. Trade keys to uncover the mysteries contained in both titles. Best of all, it's up to you to breed the most powerful monster by customizing it with magic abilities and inherited skills. Link to another system to fight your friend's monsters or join up to fight as a team!

When I purchased Dragon Warrior Monsters II; Tara's adventure, I was expecting a Dragon Warrior Monsters experience, and what I got was better.
Not only does all the "old" stuff included in DWI show up in the sequel, but tons of new monsters were added, as well as new skills, and the warp gates were evolved to a new level.
If you like a catch-your-monster-RPG, get this one, or Cobi's Adventure. Both are brilliant pieces of work, as you battle for keys to new worlds to ultimately become the champion of GreatLog!

This game is unbeliveble! I love it! It is very addictive and interesting and exciting! Don't think of this game as another boring old pokemon, it is more conplex with a much better plot. There are 312 different monsters to catch! Another reason this game is great is because you can breed your monsters to make more and better monsters. This game is great for all ages!
Must Have! *****

There's a lot to do in this game, and it can keep you occupied for hours simply with the many possibilities. When you get tired of the main story (which the plot treats it as a scenario to be rushed but can be comically pushed aside for meaningless things such as tournaments), you can go out and breed, and if you tire of breeding, you can explore new, randomly generated worlds, and within these worlds you can discover more worlds leading to a seemingly endless chain. If you finally tire of that, there's the aforementioned tournament that can get you more worlds, and by this point you'll likely be ready to progress again. This cycle makes Dragon Warrior Monsters a huge time eater, so if you're looking for a strange new RPG, try this one out!

I had this game a long time ago when I was a kid, but my wonderful younger self lost it somewhere along the way(Go me). But when I found it here on amazon, it was definitely a wonderful and worthwhile purchase and brought back many memories. I'd definitely recommend it. It came very well packaged, and the game works great!

I got this game a week ago or so, after craving it for some time(3 months). I chose to pick up Tara's Adventure rather than the one featuring a male protagonist, and, in truth, there is no real difference. Being a male, I would have preferred the male protagonist, Cobi, however, you only realize you are playing as a female character a couple of times throughout the game, and hey, it's refreshing! My game got here super fast, and I most definitely recommend buying from Get-It-Fast Gaming, they aren't kidding when they say it's fast! Overall, for the gameboy color era, this game features great graphics and sprites, some catchy and great music, and great gameplay which rivals that of Pokemon. The best part about this game is its immense breeding options. There are over 200 breeding options, and its fun to see how kick-ass you can make your party! I cannot believe this game was downplayed as a "Pokemon Clone", its very special and very unique, what are you waiting for, give it a try!

Any game that involves collecting monsters is going to draw comparisons to the all-holy Pokemon. It's unavoidable. So let's dismiss the assumption that Enix's Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 is a Pokemon clone. It is not. If anything, it's a merging of Pokemon and Monster Rancher. If you want to collect every monster imaginable, you're gonna need to put some of your fave beasts out to stud and breed whole new species. Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 is actually two games in one. The first half of the game is a very classical Japanese RPG. The kingdom's in trouble and it's up to you, the unsuspecting hero, to save the day. The second half is all about finding new monsters, building them up, breeding them, and repeating the process to infinity with the hopes of finding every last species. There are two separate games you can buy, Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Cobi's Journey or Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara's Adventure. Both titles are nearly identical. The same quest, the same results. But each title has unique monsters and magic keys. To reach all of the many lands of Dragon Warrior Monsters 2, you'll have to breed monsters and swap keys with a buddy playing the other game. Cobi and Tara are friendly siblings whose family has just opened a monster ranch on the tiny island of GreatLog. Their peaceful lives are soon disrupted when the irresponsible Prince Kameha and his monster sidekick, Warubou, accidentally destroy the GreatLog's navel plug (yes, you read that right). As often happens when an island's navel plug is destroyed, GreatLog begins to sink. Warubou acts as a temporary plug, but it is up to you as either Cobi or Tara to journey to five different worlds in search of a replacement plug. From here the RPG is pretty standard. Travel around fighting random monsters and talking to various people in the town.Read more ›
