This world is interesting. I liked the book, even if I did have some problems with the way James waffles around. But I get why he did it. It’s a good book. I am partial to dragons though. They have long been one of my favorite fantasy creatures. I did laugh in some spots and wanted to wring James’s neck in others. I think my favorite character was Arthur.

This book has great characters, and character development as well as a nice storyline. Balloons at times and I think the world building just needs a little more tweaking, but it's a good read the series has promise.

This book really shines in its character development: it’s easy to like and care about the characters, even when they’re taking indecisiveness to new and sometimes frustrating extremes. (I see you, James, and I get where you’re coming from, and I like you, but dude…) The premise is creative and engrossing— I would have loved to see a bit more world building, and there are some aspects of the “how” and “why” in all of it that I still don’t quite understand but…it ended up not really affecting my enjoyment of the story, because again: really creative, and awesome character development. I’ll definitely look for more works from this author in the future.

Dragons Deep is fun dragon book with so much going on that it is sometimes difficult to keep track. James has some secrets but still wants someone to love. His friend, bartender and sorcerer Arthur, gives him a love lock ring and before he knows it, he has several men attracted to him – a rich lion daddy, a sloppy bear and a knight in shining armor. But James is not sure he should share his secret. The question may come down who gets him to crack.

James was a fun hero. His room was filled with dragons and he worked at a coffee shop. He was not particularly decisive until the very end. Sir Brian, on the other hand, was unique as he did not know how to handle the modern world. One thing he did know was that he wanted James. There were other amazing characters as well. The world building needs a bit of a fine tuning but it was a delight to experience, especially the different transformations. I look forward to the next book which I hope will answer any questions I have.

Needed more world-building

I enjoyed all of the characters immensely, but I felt that this book lacked sufficient world-building. I often found myself confused at the events and trying to go back to see if I had missed something, only to find that wasn’t the case. Why was no one’s happy ending a dragon? Was it James’ true sight that caused his issues as a child, so that now that he has gone through all of this, will he still need his medications?

But, on the character side of things, I can’t think of one that I didn’t like. Arthur was interesting as a bit of a mercenary, but only for good causes. I wonder why he seems to crusade for people to find happiness… I liked that Angie learned to work through the trauma that happened to her, and yet, is still optimistic. I liked that Bradley and Manuel each found others.

Very Imaginative Story

This story has a lot of fantastical creatures and I loved the way the fairy bubbles popped up out of nowhere. It's a really rich world that's only got a few weeks before it's potentially written off the map. While I liked the creative aspects, I had a really difficult time getting into the story. It's a bit unclear as to what's supposed to happen in this time as the main character is really stuck on keeping to the same things and thought processes. I feel that there's sometimes too much description of outside happenings that took away from the main story of James and Sir Bryan. While, I didn't really connect with either of the main characters, I did like a lot of the side ones such as Carol, Angie, and even Manuel. Overall, I think it's just over the 3 star mark but could use a bit of polishing to really make it a four star.

This book is awesome it has really interesting characters and all different kinds of transformations to different kinds of creatures and worlds inside of worlds and a fun romance story where one knows they belong together and the other is indecisive and fighting against his own desires and nature there are some mysteries left in the book I wish had been elaborated on but I’m interested in reading the next book to hopefully find out what the answers are

Alternate reality book with Dragons

Dragons Deep is an alternate reality type story. The book focusses on James and is wten from his POV. The book has some funny moments and I really liked James' dragon. Th book was confusing at times and I struggled to follow the story. The book could have added some more wold-building to make it easier. The book is very creative, but does not have a lot of romance. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
