This is the third in the series, and takes place right after they have returned from their weapons run, and even as fun as that was… They come home to find that Bradly has taken over with a little help from Masters and the Company. So what else is one to do? Well, become criminals of course. Zeke has a little problem with that, along with having to tell his Mom that he is becoming one, and keeping his brother Pear, the bragon, safe, well as safe as you can keep a bragon.
Bernard is back with a whopping secret love life, that may or may not help out the PPD gang, Along with Master dropping a little secret that means there should be another book coming out.
All in all a great book and I look forward to reading the next one.
Oh wow! Zeke and crew are in for one wild ride. They have to become what they try to stop in their effort to take back the Badlands PPD building. Some questions get answered but others arise. How did he end up being raised by valkyries? What about Pear? Zeke's little brother is still hanging out with big brother. You see a little more about him, what he can do. Is he really as unintelligent as he seems? What about when he goes all bragon and suddenly he sounds like a freaking genius? What about Francis, did he sell them out? Will Silk ever shut up?!
Zeke and company made it back with their weapons restock to find they'd lost their precinct in the process. The team has to go deep "under cover" to get back their precinct. Action, mayhem and destruction follow as our hero's do what they have to to take control back and try to restore what little order THE Badlands will allow. Dragons, hellions, goblins, malkyries, pixies, a bragon and hot of others are all along for the ride. Get your copy of Dragon's Impasse today. You won't regret it!

The action and dialog move well and really keep you engaged. So fun having all the personalities of the assorted underworld types: dragons, hellions, trolls, valkyries, and others, and interesting combinations of those. And there is plenty of mayhem and explosions to please us action-lovers (please can I blow something up, now?) This is refreshingly original and fun to read. Loved the snark, especially.
Zeke is ready to take back control of PPD headquarters from Masters and his crew. But can Zeke and his small crew confront the overwhelming odds and win? Can Zeke release his inner Dragon and win the day? A must read story.

[SPOILER ALERT!!!] There is a small spoiler at the end of this review, you were warned!
This series is getting better and better!! Ian Dex is still my favourite so far, but Zeke has nearly just as much fast paced, action filled mayhem along with being funny and gripping, but doesn't have the same level of adult humour in it, its almost completely absent, which is disappointing.
I also don't feel as much of a connection to the rest of the team as you do with Ian Dex, but we are getting to know Zeke and Rose well, and we finally get to see Zeke go full dragon, although sadly in not much detail and not for very long. Hopefully this won't be the only time! :)
Still a great read though, thoroughly entertaining, and very much worth picking up. Onto book 4!! :)
This 3rd book about Zeke Phoenix, a dragon who was brought up by Valkyries, continues the Badlands Paranormal Police Department series which started with Dragon's Torment. The great storyline is there from the start especially for this ramped up escapade and the team are all the better for being fun, sarcastic and neither perfect nor pc even when the odds aren't in their favour. There is a great mixture of humour, action and storyline in this next book of another addictive series which kept me wanting to read more even though I knew I had to get up early for work in the morning?! I can’t wait for more!
All hell has broken loose and whats worse is Zeke is going to finally lose his temper, which means their is a change in the area with extreme violence and some wise cracking. With him is his team with nothing to lose except their sense of Law and Order. A great series of battles and a few interesting reveals as we spend more time with our favourite badland PPD
This book continues the wild and wonderful story of Zeke, his team, and their exploits in dealing with the various bad guys. The characters are brilliantly crafted and more of their individual stories become apparent in this book. Adventurous, entertaining and funny. Highly recommended.
My expectations are now always high with the PPD series, both for narrative, storyline and humour. The authors have yet again outdone themselves with this outing, surpassing my hopes and truly delivering a GREAT READ!
