Lani’s really taken some chances with her writing this year, she’s introduced three new series to her fans, and each one of them is vastly different than what we’ve seen from her in the past. This series, though, is something special. The fantasy-based world that she has built in modern day Dallas is fascinating. Once I got this book in my hands and began to read her words, they played like a movie in my head. I vividly envisioned all of these dragons, I was right there in the cool as heck compound, and I was riveted in place devouring the story.
Dragons Need Love, Too picks right up where I Need Big Dragons and I Cannot Lie leaves off. There is a little bit of concurrent action going on, and it definitely made the entire reading experience richer. This book was just as exciting, just as interesting, just as well developed as the first book. The story was gripping and thrilling and sexy. Nikolai and Brooklyn were magic together. I loved them! Of course, no Vale novel would be complete without her unique brand of humor, and there is a healthy dose of it here, too.
I’m always excited for a new Lani Lynn Vale novel, and as a grateful fan, she feeds that excitement with a regular supply of new material. But this series is just so different. It’s a breath of fresh air, and it draws the reader in right from the start. I can’t recommend this book and this new series from Ms. Vale highly enough. Without hesitation, I can say that it’s is a must-read for all of Lani’s fans, whether they love PNR or not. This non-PNR fan absolutely loved Dragons Need Love, Too, and it’s getting 5 smooches from me.

Brooklyn is a somewhat sheltered woman who is tossed into the middle of a long lasting feud due to her friendship with Blythe. Once exposed to her new life, she is strong and stubborn and loves deeply for those around her.
Nikolai, let me just say I would take a ride on his dragon anytime!! He can be moody and not great at communication, but he does it for the best of intentions. I loved the relationship between Brooklyn and Nikolai.
I also enjoyed how the reader got to see how Blythe and Keifer were fairing. I give this book 5 stars and cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Nikolai... Loved so much about this man! Still a little confused about his "blood phobia" but everything else... Oh, yeah... I get him. *wink wink* His intelligence, his bedroom skills, the way he harnesses his magic ... it all amps up his alpha hotness & that is KILLER. And his relationship with Perdita is so cute & funny!
Brooklyn... Loved seeing her come into her powers, her new "title", her adventurous side aka the things she "projected" to Nikolai... Those things were all a bunch of fun. I have to admit though, she annoyed me a tiny bit. I know she wanted to be #1 & come first (everyone in a relationship does, I get it, & it makes sense) but HELLO... you're in a slightly different situation from the norm here. Stop the whining, please, because you are totally awesome other than that!
Odds & ends... Perdita (Nikolai's dragon) was great. Loved Blythe & Keifer... especially that ovary-exploding moment in the hospital. The Fairy dragons were adorable. Skylar is sweet- totally want more about her! And... the other dragon riders remain a mystery that I just can't wait to unravel... especially Ian.
OMG, that epilogue... told through Ian's POV... WTF is going on with Farrow?! I'm confused & have so many questions about that situation he created BUT... bring on Ian's story. Farrow can go pout in the corner while Ian gets his happily ever after. :)
