Very happy with the hold downs. They look great, I've already gotten several comments on them. More importantly, they work far better than the rubber ones. Not only do they completely eliminate that hood flutter (which can be somewhat alarming at high speeds), but because they hold the hood down tighter, they really do seem to improve the overall handling of the Jeep in high winds. It's still a brick on wheels, but the gusts don't seem to get quite so good a bite on it. I do a lot of driving along the coast, and I'd have replaced them for that alone.
As for the installation, as others have already said, just take the front grill loose and you can get at all the bolts easily. It's just a half dozen or so plastic clips on the top edge, and then it pulls right off with no problems. The clips are in two pieces, take a small screwdriver or something to pry out the center pin, then the outer clip pulls out easily. A couple minutes to get the grill loose will save you a lot of frustration getting at the latch hardware. Then follow the instructions and adjust them so that you have to put a little pressure on the hood to slide the pins out easily, tighten the locking nuts, and you're done. It's maybe a half-hour job.
