That said both brands claimed a 25 minute install time - that might be true if you have done one before. Mine took about an hour 15 minutes. Probably 15 minutes of that was to examine the hardware and crawling under the car (2012 Focus Hatch with sport suspension) to become familiar with what we would be doing.
Once we were comfortable we knew what needed to be done we could have done install in 25 minutes with no problem except for one problem. There are two bolts & two small plates that attach to a cool spring wire thingy that you fish thru a channel in the chassis and then pull the bolt & plate into place then tighten it down with a washer & nut. The bolt heads would not fit thru the holes in chassis so we had undo the wire thingy and grind down the bolt heads a little on one side to make them fit through the hole.
Once that was done everything went smoothly. The hitch fit perfectly with just the receiver peaking out from under the bumper.
Nice product at a good price.
While the hitch itself is fine, the hardware that comes with it in order to install is worthless. First off they shorted me 2 bolts (there are only 6 bolts required). Second, the "fish wire" used to fish the carriage bolt through the backing block doesn't fit through the hole in the block making it impossible for the carriage bolt to slip through the block. This hitch would be very easy to install if the hardware were functional. I would not recommend this product based on the fact that I now have to go out and purchase additional hardware to make it work or hire a professional to do it.
