Dream to Destiny: Become who you're meant to be - step into your Destiny! Paperback – May 7, 2010

After seeing the author on Wife Swap recently, I was intruiged by her positive attitude and her "go for it" approach to life. I did a little searching and discovered her book and website and immediately ordered the book here on Amazon.

Initially, I didn't know what to expect and was prepared to skim through the book and pass it on in case it didn't suit me. As a Christian, I am wary of many books that empower you to be all you can be because there is usually this vague notion of asking "the Universe" to help you along, which does not fit with my faith. Wife Swap did not portray the Beauvais family as being religious at all, so I was skeptical when I started the book.

I was delighted with the book in a thousand ways. First of all, before you get more than a paragraph or two into it, Dina shares her faith in God in a powerful way. Not only is she a praying, believing Christian, her faith is the foundation of her entire system! Guess that didn't make good television because the producers of Wife Swap clearly edited that part out, which is very sad.

Dream to Destiny is about making the most of you and the unique gifts, passions and abilities that God placed in you and me for a reason. It isn't about asking "the Universe" to drop lucky breaks into your lap. It is about asking the CREATOR of the Universe to help you make the most of your natural resources. It is about thinking about good and positive things, eliminating negativity and developing a sense of expectancy in your life that good things will come. The result for me has been a change of attitude that has me dreaming so big that I am brimming over with dreams and plans for the future.

I love this book because of Dina's voice throughout. You can just FEEL her passion for this system she wholeheartedly believes in and it is contagious! I love the encouragement she offers, the step-by-step instructions she explains so well and the proof that she provides that all of it will work if we seek God's guidance, align our will with His and take action. I also loved the Reality TV Bites where Dina shares some inside looks at how Wife Swap is taped and edited. Very interesting stuff.

Honestly speaking: buy this book! And do yourself and favor and buy another copy for a friend right now because you'll wish you did. You won't want to give up your own copy with all the sections you highlighted and underlined, the folded-down pages and the notes in the margins!

Ladies and gentlemen, this program really works. It's an easy read, easy to follow and if you're looking for something to change your life, this is it! As a Christian, I'm especially grateful it's a God centered program. If you want to keep God active in your life and learn to attract things, this is the program for you.

This is an inspirational book everyone should read at any age.It is a fast reading book with lots of good advice that you want to read over and over again.This book really makes you think of your goals and what you want out of life.

I have read the Secret & another related book & Dream to Detiny puts it all together in an understandable way. Dina gives you the keys that other "manifestation systems" lack.

I saw Dina Beauvais on the show "Wife Swap". The first time I watched the show, I was going through a really hopeless time in my life. A long time relationship ended, my kids were soon to be college-bound and just about everything that I considered "my life" was experiencing some drastic changes, of which I felt I had no control and was being left behind and abandoned. I suffered severe depression and pushed friends and family away. The show and Dina lit a tiny flame inside me. I watched the show several times since and each time I had the same hopeful feeling that nothing else really triggered. I was skeptical of the actual book though. The false hope and promises that life presented to me in abundance was the reason I didn't order it right away. However, Dina kept coming into my thoughts and during a bad time the show would be on. Finally, I fought the depression off enough that I was ready to make a change. At that point, the show came on again....it was like telling me which direction to take. I went ahead and ordered the book....both excited yet questioning if this could really help. (I am 42 years old and figured that I may just be a lost cause...nothing could help get my positive energy back or give me hope...the depression had taken such a toll on me ...was there a way back to life again?)
I received the book and sat down to get to work. My daughter is a sophomore in college and she was experiencing some bumps in her life as well. She needed a boost. So, we read the book together. Working on the exercises and talking. I immediately felt lifted as if a window had been opened in a dark room. It was something inside that changed....and I can't explain it. But would it stick?
This book has changed my life! The depression I fought so hard for so long doesn't reside here anymore! I am more confident and I have HOPE!!!!! The fog of my dreams, goals and life in general has been lifted!!!! I got right to work on some of my short term goals that never had been finished before and just like that.... they were done! Both my daughter's and my own self-esteem has greatly improved and we both have learned that we don't have to "settle" and we set the bar higher in our lives! Whenever we are having a rough day ...we remind each other of the lessons we learned and instead of saying "Goodbye" we remind each other to "Be your best me". We are succeeding! The funny part is: others have noticed the change as well....I once was meek and shy, unable to state what I wanted or to stand up for myself. Now, I get respect because I took charge of my life....I am able to say exactly what it is that I am needing or thinking. Now, I have people looking to me for leadership (and the best part is: I know I can handle it). As far as being left behind and pushing others away.... I have had new people walk into my life. (Some completely unexpected). My new group of friends has made me realize that the people from the past need to stay there....for they were horrible friends anyway and to be honest.....they were just not good for me... they were hard on my self-esteem and it was always to make themselves feel better. My new people are just beautiful people inside and out!
The book, itself, is like talking to a friend. It is easy to read and to the point. Dina talks about her own experiences which helps to know she has lived this. The exercises are thought provoking and not hard to follow through with. You get a chance to sit down with yourself and discover the sometimes forgotten "inner true self". Some of the projects I really was skeptical about. I did them anyway and hoped for the best. One of the things that I had hoped for happened within a couple of days. Things just started to pop from that point on. It was like magic! My daughter found it easy to understand also. She used the book to help her narrow down a major which she had been questioning for awhile. Even my son, who has not read the book but has watched and listened to us, has made some major positive changes in his life. I have read other self-help books.... but not one has affected us like this one has.
I thought about any negative aspects of the book. Dina does have some religious/spiritual references in some parts of the book. Some people may not appreciate that.... but she does clearly state that you don't have to share a religious belief to be successful with the program. I agree with her. I believe it is still a great program with or without a religious life. I personally at the time was not very religious. (gave up on God when I was going through so much hardships) Since I read the book, I decided I wanted to return to my religious belief system.... and that too improved greatly.
I love this book. It can touch every part of your life if you let it! While you are on a new path... there may be some great surprises! (I joke now about this but.....my x whom I was so broken-hearted about when he cheated on me and our relationship ended, I honestly thought he was the best I could hope for ..kind of an Al Bundy, redneck hillbilly type....no ambition, no goals. I read the book... and started to believe I deserved better. I told myself I deserved better. LOL.....about a month later something absolutely crazy happened. You know that cute football player everyone had a huge crush on in high school, but was so out of your league you couldn't even look at him? Yeah, THAT guy found me! He is successful guy like we all knew he would be and still great looking, but he searched me out and told me how beautiful I have become and how positive and inspiring I am. We are still talking! LOL.... he calls me gorgeous all the time!!!).
I would recommend the book to everyone! It's easy to read, easy to understand, it's easy to implement the devotions and the exercises into life. This book also grows with you...because as one dream/goal comes into being, you can start on the next! It has truly helped my entire family and I hope it is safe to say....we have been changed for a lifetime!!!!!! I went from being unable to get out of bed to waking up excited to see what life has in store for the day...and knowing full well that whatever it is.. I can handle it !!!!!!! Just beware.....It may change your life!!!!!!!!
