As David and Marilee embark on their journey to catch Barbara's killer, you'll find yourself comparing the clues the two discover along the way, and you'll be so engrossed with David and Marilee's fine detective skills that you too will be trying to solve the case with them. Dream or Destiny hooked me from the beginning, and I couldn't stop reading! In fact, I had to force myself to put the book down. Lillie can truly capture a reader's attention, and the characters she introduces her readers to are strong and realistic. This romantic suspense is not only a page-turner, it's a great romance filled with tons of suspense! --Misti Sandefur, Novelist and editor of Coffee Break for Writers
Lillie Ammann's unique talent brings her characters to life in this tension filled suspense, Dream or Destiny. From the first paragraph she'll have your heart racing as Marilee's nightmare takes over her life and changes it forever. --Diana Lesire Brandmeyer, author of A Time to Dance
The characters are deep and rich and I am especially enthralled with Tess. Her situation is so rare but very believable the way she is presented. I could really see her part acted out in a film version of this. ----Tammi Reynolds, blogger and author of Working with Special Needs Children

Dream or Destiny is a compelling mystery written by Lillie Ammann. The main character, Marilee, dreams of a murder hours before it actually happens. Once the death is discovered Marilee is added to a short list of suspects due to her dream. The list includes the dead woman’s boyfriend, her brother and her father. To complicate things, the boyfriend is an ex of Marilee’s, providing the police with an excellent motive for her to be the killer.
As we are drawn in to a web of clues and possible suspects, a romance blooms between Marilee and the dead woman’s brother. Ammann skillfully builds romantic tension between the two without allowing it to interfere with flow of the story. This book, like any good mystery, compels the reader to move the story as quickly as possible to find who the killer is. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of classic mystery and romance.
The sad thing is that I don't come across tons of writers who grab me from the get go. So ... I was pleasantly surprised when I read, Dream or Destiny, by author and editor, Lillie Ammann of, A Writer's Words, an Editor's Eye.
I have another secret to share with you. I do not like scary books. Just don't read them. Ever though, Dream or Destiny, wouldn't normally be considered a `scary book', I couldn't read it at night! It really got under my skin! :-)
The minute I picked up this book, if I had to take a break from it for any reason, I found myself rushing back to find out what came next. I was on the edge of my seat.
The characters in this story are well-developed and completely believable. I even found the romantic relationship that is fore-shadowed from the very beginning was very plausible in spite of the horrible circumstances.
One of the things that kept me coming back was the tension that Lillie created from the very first sentence. That tension never let up throughout the whole story. Within the main tension of a murder, were varying other tensions that just added this beautiful layering and authenticity to the story. It also added that adrenaline rush where the reader is just waiting and wondering what in the world is coming next!
Another thing that I loved in this story was the romance that blossoms in the midst of this horrible tragedy. Most Christian author's purify love relationships in such a way that they are no longer believable. They feel created. I didn't get that sense at all with the two main characters. And I loved the tensions of self versus man and self versus self. As we all do, the main characters kept second guessing what they were feeling, sensing or even worse, making assumptions about what the other person was thinking or feeling. Completely believable. Been there done that kind of thing!
One other thing that I really like about this book. Not one swear word. I am not a prude and I do have favorite author's who use words that I do not use in my own verbiage but that being said, it was really nice not to be having to skip over a lot of profanity. I think that just added to the enjoyability of reading this book.
I gave this book a 4.5 out of 5. Totally recommend it!
*I received this book free from Lillie Ammann as a gift. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255
The twists and turns in this story will hold your interest all the way to the end and you will be disappointed when it is over.
The romance that ensues is unusual in the circumstances that Marilee and David meet.
The suspects and people who could have killed Barbara teach you a lot about abuse, people using God as a controlling mechanism, and human character.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Fans of both mystery and romance novels should enjoy this book very much. The combination of a good, old fashioned romance and a very twisted, psychologically complex mystery gives it a memorable quality I haven't found in other books in the genre.
