I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. That did not affect the content of my review.

Dream Home by J.J. DiBenedetto continues the saga of Sara the psychic dreamer and her family. In the author's classic style, the story, apart from the dream sequences, is loaded with verisimilitude. Any 35-year-old professional trying to fit in and make a life in a small town will be able to relate to Sara's struggle with touchy coworkers and suspicious fellow parents. Through it all, Sara's husband, Brian, remains steadfastly supportive, which is why he's my favorite character. As always, Sara's supernatural ability to see the dreams of others, while it can lead to acute discomfort, also helps her cope with her everyday problems and those of her friends and loved ones.

Overall I found this story interesting and colorful, with the author's signature style all over it. It does move slowly in the first half, and patience is required, but those who persevere are rewarded with a satisfying conclusion, as well as another glimpse into the life of a character who feels so real, I wouldn't be surprised to meet her on the street.

Mr. DiBenedetto has done it again! The only bad thing I can say about this book is that it is too short. I have been enthralled from the first chapter of the first book and seven books later I still am!

I didn't think that I could be surprised any more than I have been by other books in this series but I was seriously mistaken.

Sara and Brian's story continues. Again all the recurring characters stay very true to who they have been in the previous books, with one notable exception but that side story resolves itself quickly and we get to learn a little more about that character in particular. The new characters introduced are again greatly supportive to the story as a whole and really drive it forward. I was especially impressed with Will and Joshua...I truly hope to see them in the next book.

The small town is almost a character in and of itself. I love the way that it is described and how it is contrasted against where they have lived before. I also love the descriptions of the weather. I'm a Southern California girl and we don't have real "weather" here so the sights/sounds/smells of the changing seasons helped me picture it.

But just a warning I cried...like seriously ugly cried in the last quarter of the book. It's definitely a tribute to the author that I get so involved with the characters and the story that I'm bawling and go through half a box of tissues while I'm reading. The intensity of these scenes harken back to when Dr. Walters has Sara and Brian trapped in the basement of his house...the unique circumstances are detailed and powerfully written.

Continuing on in J.J. DiBenedetto's Dream series, this book follows Sara and Brian as they leave the D.C. area and head for a small town in New York, near West Point. Brian has been able to relocate to a job less military and Sara joins the local hospital as the head of Pediatrics. With a full house, all 5 kids AND Sara's parents, plus her brother Bob and his family who relocate so his children can benefit from being near the grandparents, they try to settle into the small town atmosphere.

Through Sara's dreams, she realizes that some on staff at the hospital view her as a big town doctor set on taking over their small town. She doesn't understand why they feel that way. She also slips into an elderly man's dreams who wants to warn the town, but who no one takes seriously. The addition of sponsoring a West Point Cadet adds to this story.

Once again the twists and turns of Sara's dreams and keeping up with family matters has this book keeping your interest. I have to say again that I feel vested in the family and will continue to read this series because I've come to care about what happens! I'm still incredulous at times, since some of the things the children are allowed to do seem over the top.

In book 7, Sara, Brian and the children have moved into a new home and Sara has a new job.

She starts to dream about her new co workers and that they seem to want to get rid of her before she even starts. There is one doctor whom she seems to dislike her and she does know why.

Making friend with an old man who dreams of a possible disaster, Sara finds herself being extra prepared as Thanksgiving approaches but she does know why. But her extra preparations comes handy when a snowstorm strikes but it does not quite prepare for an unexpected life and death situation.

Sara, Lizzie and Will who is a cadet that they befriended ends up doing surgery on someone they love Lizzie is put into a situation that no one her age should go through but she manages to deal with the situation as well as Sara.

Another interesting read by the author, as we wonder what book 8 will bring us.

Sara and her family pack up and move to New York to start a new job. It's a small town and she's working at a hospital again. Her dreams have started again and she discover that one of her coworkers, Dr. Bates is not a fan of her. He tells one person and most the town doesn't like Sara. I guess that's what happens in a small town. Sara also discovers that Joshua Skinner a friendly old man is worried about a big storm that is supposed to come through during Thanksgiving, but no one believes him. Will Sara be able to get the people of the town to warm up to her and realize she's not a threat to them? Will Sara think Joshua might be onto something based on his recurring dream? If Joshua is correct, will people die just like in 1947 when he lost his wife? Find out when you read this book from the Dream Series. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
