book it answers a lot of questions. Questions that couldn't be asked at that
particular time due to the people involved. If you were not connected you
simply learned a few necessities of life. Where to go and where not to go, who
to associate with and who to avoid, most important when to turn your eyes away.
This book is outstanding, hits home, goes right to the heart of it all. It is
hard core reading. Even to this day it would take guts to write something
like this. Get this book, take the phone off the hook, make sure all the doors are locked,
go to the back bedroom and get ready to be educated and entertained.
Gulf Coast Mississippi is more like Gulf Coast Louisiana. It is a lot looser than up in the northern parts of these states. Very much joie de vivre! What's the problem with gambling, prostitution, and a little loose public bribery of the police and DA? Why can't we all party together? Don't worry about those damn Baptists!
So Chet Nicholson tells the story of these thugs and their ultimate involvement with politicians in running scams directed at homosexuals responding to ads placed in Advocate magazine. The scams were orchestrated by a murderer doing hard time at Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. When $100,000 goes missing, the murderers look to their lawyers who were complicit in the scams. However, one of the lawyers is now a judge and another becomes mayor of Biloxi. Of the two lawyers, one gets executed (along with his Biloxi councilwoman wife), and the other is serving time in the federal pen. Incredible but based on facts.
