"This is the perfect guide if you find yourself ready to live the life you were meant to live today- written by two of the most credible authors you'll ever find." ~ Debbie Whitlock, Host of FemmeFinance RadioTM
Named one of the "top 10 books for your money and investing reading list" by Betterment.com.
From the Author
We wrote this book for anyone who has a dream but struggles to make it come true. We know the challenges of prioritizing your dream and how "real life" stands in the way of accomplishing what you've always wanted to do.
Every week we get emails and comments on our website from readers who want to make big changes in their lives but just don't know how. It's heartbreaking to see the desire stop for a lack of know-how, and we've made it our mission to share our success (and failures) to teach others how to make their dreams happen.
This book was a joy to write, mainly because of the astounding long-term changes people were able to make with relatively minor daily actions in their lives. We also gained a lot of positive energy ourselves just by asking for reader success stories.
So often authors write to an anonymous audience, never knowing whether their words make an impact. We are fortunate to live in the age of the internet where we can get feedback almost instantaneously.
Our favorite emails are the ones that say, "I paid off my debt today!" or "Tomorrow I'm starting my new business" or "Today I board the plane!" It's a great job to have, and I hope it never ends. Life is short, and the way you spend it every day matters.

Don't know where to start with your dream? They've got you covered. Not sure if you can really afford to do what you love? They share an action plan to make it happen.
You'll learn practical ways to map out your dream, start planning and saving, keep yourself motivated and eventually turn your dream into a reality! I highly recommend this book, and have even bought it for my friends and family as a gift.
When you are a true traveler, you just know it. There is an excitement that exudes when you are discussing foreign places, food, museums, art, architecture, nature, hearing foreign languages. I have been fortunate to travel extensively throughout Europe, So. America, and even Around the World in my mid-twenties over the "Hippy Trail" in an Overlander bus filled with foreigners. I felt at home. But that was then, and this is now, OR SO I THOUGHT until I starting reading further. True, the Talbots are still young, creative, able to travel the world and still find a way to sustain themselves no matter where life takes them. But what they show very clearly throughout the book is that I CAN TOO! I realized that my limitations are self-imposed and I can re-think, re-imagine and, re-create them.
Since reading Dream Save Do I have started to embrace a much more minimalist lifestyle. I actually love it! It suits me! Getting rid of things is freeing, just like they said it could be. Even cherished art pieces (colorful masks and exotic crosses collected from all over the world) can and will find a home. What I desire at this point in time is to collect memories, not things. I have started to track my spending, have found ways to cut expenses, looked into TESL/TEFL programs, researched housesitting opportunities, and let my mind really start to dream! I can and will use more of their ideas and action steps to plan my next DREAM journey in full colorful "dream porn" detail (I can hear Betsy and Warren laugh as they coined that phrase), SAVE for it (despite the odds, the economy, real estate bubbles popping, my age, my perceived expectations of what so many friends/family/colleagues have for me, and just DO it!
A favorite quote from the book, "Remember that this dream is the desire of your higher self, the one who wants to live an extraordinary life, and you'll constantly be doing battle with your lower self who simply wants immediate gratification. You have to say "no" to fleeting desires to be able to say "yes" to the important ones." I am forever thankful for their wise words!
On a whim I purchased this book because I was familiar with Warren and Betsy's blog and I was secretly envious of their adventures. This was the best thing I could have done. This book is full of helpful tips and advice as well as great personal insight (and humor) to help you transform your life from just dreaming the dream to actually living the dream.
I'm proof of that. After reading this book we started implementing the actionable steps outlined in the book. In 8 short months we had amassed the cash we needed to take a 3 month sabbatical in Indonesia. We are now back from our sabbatical and planning the next stage of our life journey and once again Dream, Save, Do is an integral part of that planning.
Everyone has dreams but not everyone acts on them. This book helped us act on our dreams. It worked for us and I am confident it will work for you.
