This epic journey begins with this enticing novel! Intense and spell binding, I was riveted from the very beginning when Durgan is plotting his “escape.” In ways, it reminded me a lot of Maxine Mansfield's The Academy Series because of how the characters from Ms. Mansfield's series and this one (Ms. Ferguson's) seem to have similar characteristics to me, and how the series' are laid out.
Their snark, courageousness, and determination won me over in the beginning and reading about them slowly falling for one another made me root for Durgan and Nerienne more so then most characters I’ve read about. Together they make one grand couple (two pieces of a whole) that could rule all if only they'd allow it. I LOVED their banter! Plus, adding cute/sweet Bidge into their relationship didn’t hurt either.
I HIGHLY recommend this novel to those looking for a fantasy romance with an epic tale.

Nerienne, First Daughter and heir to the Tiria of Gayome, embarks on a dangerous journey that begins with the death and destruction of the Tiara. Attacked by the Elasians and rescued by the leader of the rebels, Durgan Ketassian. Nerienne must learn to trust her instincts, relying on her magic, Bidge and allying with an enemy, to save Gayome.
Dream Singer Durgan is wanted by the Tiria. He is one of the rebels, determined to save his people from the Tiria. Finding Nerienne was not something he expected, must less thinking of allying with her and surrendering his heart.
Bidge is my favorite throughout the story, a unique magical creature created by the imagination of JA Ferguson.
I received an ARC copy through Netgalley for an honest review. 4.5/5 stars
It had magic and action right from the start.
There also was just the right amount of romance and spice to the story.
The story had some interesting plot twists that kept it paced just right.
I find very appealing any story where the two main characters start off with two different points of view on how to save their world, but come together in the one goal that will save each other and the people they would die for.
I look forward to the next book in this series.
Durgan loathes the dictatorial rule of the Tiria, who has condemned him and his peers to death for their dreamsinging talent. He knows that Nerienne is his natural enemy as the daughter of his foe. However, he cannot stop his attraction to her. Nerienne wonders who he truly is as she finds herself in love for the first time. Together, they can save a world and find internal peace and happiness. Separately, they will find a quick death at the end of the short and lonely trail.
DREAMSINGER is an entertaining fantasy romance that will provide much pleasure to sub-genre fans. The story line is typical for the genre but raised above the clutter by the numerous intriguing characters that seem genuine in spite of many of them containing magical powers or being an author-created species such as Nerienne's companion, Bidge. J.A. Ferguson shows she is a talent that will be welcomed by fantasy and romance readers for her enthralling other world journey.
In Dreamsinger, JA Ferguson has built a believable world, believeable conflicts, but more than that, she's created two characters who are fighting against the odds to save their world, their people and to create a love that would touch the hearts of any world.
