I've read all in this series of Dream books and this is one of my favorites. The whole Alderson clan (except the littlest) is off to Europe for a dream family vacation, first to Paris and then to London for the wedding of close family friend, Janet. Sounds perfect, but wherever Sarah goes, her dreams seem to follow, and they do follow her to Europe, as soon as the first night. Sarah finds herself dreaming of teen brother and sister who seem to be getting themselves into trouble, yet she has no idea how to help them in this city that she is unfamiliar with. During the day the family take in the sights of beautiful Paris, and Sarah and Brian have to keep an eye on their teenage daughter, Grace, who is giving them the typical teen challenges. Soon enough Sarah's dreams and Grace's teen hormones collide when Grace disappears and no one can find her. Knowing that Grace is getting herself into deep trouble, the family of dreamers has to try to find Grace before something horrible happens to her.

This is book 8 in the series and it is filled with a great story, some humor, and drama- more drama than the other books I believe. Grace is definitely trying these parents as their first teen, making them question how to deal with her. It's nice to read about parents that don't have all the answers, who aren't perfect and who aren't sure of what they are doing, like all of us go through in our lives with our own children. It's a book that reveals the dark side of what happens when kids don't think about how their actions might get them into trouble. It's also a book with a very loving family, like all the others in the series, which is really refreshing. This family is supportive and respectful of each other and that is one of the things I like best about these books.

After reading the first book in this series I immediately downloaded the remaining seven. I'm sad I just finished the final page of the last book currently out in the series. I'm already eagerly awaiting the next release to ser what's next in Sara and Brian's lives. I absolutely fell in love with Sara and her friends and family from the first pages I read. We first met her as a med student shocked to realize she's suddenly able to see other people's dreams. Through these dreams she's able to help people and sometimes solve horrible events going on around her. Similar in a way to the Patricia Arquette tv series "Medium" where patricias character had prophetic dreams. The main difference being in this book series the main character of Sara while dreaming finds she's a viewer in someone else's dreams. Almost like watching a film of someone's dreams...as long as she's met the person she can dream their dreams. Each book in this series is the next phase in her life. So from medical student through to having teens....I really cannot wait to see what's next. Each twist and turn in her life brings her and us closer to her friends and family. I will continue to cheer for her in each and every book.

Sara's dreaming again, and as usual, the dreams are not her own! Dream Vacation takes us to Europe following Sara and her family on the vacation of a lifetime through the City of Lights and into London. Despite leaving their youngest at home with a set of grandparents, there are still four children to wrangle through the foreign cities. Add to the mix that one of them is a teenager dealing with her first heartbreak and inclined to be rebellious, well, that brings it to a whole other level. Sara's worries are real as Grace's escapades get more dangerous and threaten to derail carefully made plans, not to mention her own life. Sara's ability to see other people's dreams becomes a strong advantage which she uses to find Grace and bring her back home.

As usual, a terrific addition to the Dream Series. I'm enjoying following the Alderson family through the trials and tribulations of parenthood. Their coping with tweens and teens is realistic and I can easily relate to it! I recommend this book and the series!

Mr DiBenedetto sent me this book in exchange for my honest review.

The last time I met Sara Barnes and her dreams was in Dream Student, the first book in the Dream series. She was a junior at college, while Brian Alderson was a freshman. There were another six Dream books before number eight, Dream Vacation, but, I’m sorry to say, I haven’t read them. In the latest in the series, Sara and Brian are married and Sara is a doctor. They have five children that they are raising. And Sara still sees other people’s dreams. She enters into their dreams just as if she were dreaming them herself.

The story: Grace, the oldest child, has a crush on Will, a family friend. But Will has just proposed to someone else, Victoria, and he’s done it in front of the whole family. Grace is crushed but puts a brave face on it. She is hurt and confused and starts acting out. She lies to her parents about where she’s going and asks her best friend to be her alibi. She is found out and, as a result, Grace’s friend’s mother refuses to let them talk to each other. That hurts Grace even more.

Meanwhile, another family friend, Janet, will be getting married in a castle in Scotland. Sara and Brian decide to make a family vacation out of it. They’ll take the four oldest children, first to Paris for a week, then London en route to Scotland for the wedding.

On the plane and in Paris, Sara dreams about the same two young people. She doesn’t know how important this will be to her. She doesn’t know that Grace will disappear in Paris, but her dreams of the other two will help her to find her daughter, not exactly safe and sound, but at least found.

Sara and Brian are raising their children as best they can. Like all parents, they make mistakes.
