This is a book I've been meaning to read for a while. Several of my friends just rave about The Dreamland Series and I have to admit, the breathtaking cover caught my attention almost immediately.

I will admit, The Dreamer wasn't what I was expecting. While very beautifully written and fantastical, it felt more science fiction and psychology than fantasy and magic, but that's not a bad thing at all! It was a world that I never could have imagined and I think that EJ Mellow is the perfect author to tell this story.

As I said, the writing is beautiful. The world-building is divine. The characters and setting are to die for. Yes, there is a bit of a love triangle, and as of right now, I have to admit I'm #TeamJared. I need to read the second book before discussing this with my friends, however, because I'm pretty sure they've all read it. They might know things that I don't! But yeah, as of right now, definitely rooting for Jared. He's just too sweet.

I read a review that called this book "Alice in Wonderland for a new generation." I do believe they were right.

Molly is your normal everyday female living in New York, steady job, wonderful best friend and a developing relationship; that is until her 24th birthday when she gets struck by lightning. For the first time in her life, Molly starts to actually remember her dreams, which are very vivid and seem like she is having the same dream every night. Molly starts to feel as though there are more to these 'dreams' as she slowly starts to be able to explore the world of her dreams.

EJ Mellow did an amazing job when it came to the world building she did for this story. Every time Molly falls asleep and wakes up in the strange dream world I felt as though I was right there beside her experiencing the world for myself. I loved each character that EJ introduced the reader to, especially Dev, and I even enjoyed the love triangle, which I know tends to be something that a lot of readers try to avoid anymore. The love triangle that EJ created will have anyone begging for more when it comes to reading this book because it is so well written and it helps develop the story and the characters.

Overall this book was downright amazing and should be on any readers TBR list, it is well worth the purchase and I can not recommend it enough.

AHHH!!!!!!! 6 stars!
E.J. has successfully turned into one of my favorite authors after reading this. Her world-building skills are breathtaking and a breath of fresh air! I devoured every single detail of it. The twist she created around the act of dreaming is literally out of this world! There are so many unique aspects in this story that it blew my mind how E.J. was capable to come up with them all!
Molly's character development was perfection! The emotions she felt throughout this book are so strong they seeped right into me! So much that some scenes in this book made me freak and scream out loud!
Molly faced realistic consequences for someone who is living two separate lives, one when she's awake and the other when she's asleep. Every word came alive as both of her lives collided and she struggled to figure out a way to make them work without losing her mind. It was amazing finding out how the events in Dream Land affected Earth and vice versa.
All of the characters were stunning and realistic, I fell in love with all of them!
I thoroughly enjoyed Molly's relationship with Becca. Their friendship wass honestly so genuine and heart warming that I believed every second of it. Lately, some authors haven't been able to capture the essence of true friendship but E.J. did that and so much more.
This book was full of hilarious dialogue that I couldn't just chuckle. I had to laugh out loud from deep within my stomach. It was immensely pleasing that the characters were older than 20 years old, it helped me relate to them more and appreciate the maturity of the content.
Oh, and the love triangle in this book was so painful!

ALERT!!! RED ALERT!!!

O-M-G!!!! Mellow has made my emotions fluctuate up and down like a heart beat monitor....beep! beep! I honestly don't know what to think about this book right now. I suppose I should start from the beginning right? Lol, what is wrong with you? You drunk? What?, no! Right..

Okay, so let me begin with the cover. Who would not love this cover right? Not only is it alluring you in once you set your eyes upon it but you can't get enough of it! This cover is exactly how I would depict Molly to be. Dreaming in a euphoric kind of state, albeit this cover reminds me of underwater. But kudos to the author, love her artisitc skills!

The content for this book was mind blowing. I have never come across such a exceptional piece before. [Terra Somniorum' are very interesting words, now if you look this up you will find that in Latin it means 'Lands of Dreams' (you do find this out eventually in the book too). You find this out, but it isn't until 3/4 of the book, I just wish as a reader the action could have come alot sooner. Not that it disappointed me! Boy did it not! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! ' All through the book, I kept asking what is so special about this place? Why does Molly have a connection to it? Why?? I am glad to finally have found some of those answers!

One of the biggest bummers for me in this book was the 'apparent' love triangle, I say 'apparent' in speech marks because, the one thing I did not expect was Jared. Oh, yes oh. I won't divulge too much in the romance brewing between Molly and Dev, and Molly Jared. I can tell you, I was not pleased with it. AT ALL!
