From the Author
If you enjoy the LOVE IN BLOOM series, you may enjoy my new series, HARBORSIDE NIGHTS.
HARBORSIDE NIGHTS is a sexy, hot, and evocatively real New Adult Romance series that follows a group of friends who have known one another for years as "summer" friends, and now come together after college to build their lives. They're tough, edgy, and accepting--most of the time. Catching Cassidy is written in the loving, raw, and emotional voice readers have come to love by New York Times & USA Today bestselling, award-winning author Melissa Foster.
Dreaming of Love: Emily Braden (Love in Bloom: The Bradens at Trusty Book 5) by Melissa Foster
I received an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Hats off to Melissa Foster for another sizzling yet sweet romance. Kudos to B.J. Harrison for the excellent narration. His ability to switch characters as well as allowing you to know when a character is thinking versus speaking is amazing. He gives each character their own tone, inflection and even accent when needed.
This is the love story between architect Emily Braden and demolition expert Dae Bray. I'm sure you can already see a conflict brewing. One likes to preserve and one likes to demolish. But like most things in life nothing is simple.
They meet in beautiful Tuscany where Dae is accessing a demo job and Emily is taking the vacation her brother Wes gave her. They meet and sparks fly.
Dae is the perfect man for Emily and I considered her extremely lucky to be the recipient of Dae’s affections, attention, thoughtfulness, lust and love.
Emily is bright, sexy, but sometimes a little rigid in her thinking and stubborn. She's beautiful with a huge heart and I was glad she was open to love.
The House of Wishes plays an important role in the story and the resolution was perfect. The storyline flowed, the romance progressed at a very believable pace and had you wishing you were Emily on vacation.
I loved Dae’s careful consideration and his ability to make sound decisions based on research and not merely appearances. He taught Emily not to jump to conclusions and to trust in his judgement. He respected her and her decisions without judgement and she soon realized she could do the same with him.
The secondary characters were developed and made you care for them and feel for their personal situations.
I enjoyed their love story so much, sweet with plenty of sizzle. If you haven't tried an audio book, let this one be your first. Well written, beautifully paced and expertly narrated.
I truly enjoyed listening to the story of Emily and Dae after first reading this in print when it was originally released. There is something about listening to these books that helps my mind wander into a movie version of what I am hearing.
Emily heads to Tuscany to enjoy the architecture and enjoy some time away from Trusty, CO. She had set plans and agendas for her visit and was so excited to take everything in. After meeting Dae shortly after arriving, those plans were all thrown out the window. They had an instant connection. Like most of the Bradens, when you meet your forever love, something flips inside you, and your well laid plans change.
Throughout their visit, Emily and Dae experience Tuscany together, but they also experience each other and grow closer. What will they do when they leave Tuscany? Can they survive back in the U.S.?
Their biggest challenge is around their jobs. Emily is a passive house builder and architect. Dae is a demolition expert. Can these two positions work together or will they repeatedly be at odds? A local area of interested that Dae is commissioned to assess becomes their first test.
Emily Braden has watched her brothers fall in love and wonders when it will be her turn. She desperately needs this trip to get away from it all. Dae Bray doesn't like to stay in once place or do relationships. He is in Tuscany to work until he meets Emily and she makes him reconsider his fear of settling down. Emily and Dae tour Tuscany together growing closer. Their romance is hot and passionate and they deepen their connection to each other. As always, you get lost in the world of the Braden family and you don't want to put the book down once you start. I enjoyed reading Dreaming of Love as well as listening to the audio version of it. BJ Harrison's voice is fitting for the Braden books. His voice is so smooth that he draws you in to the story when you listen to him. I would definitely give the audio version of Dreaming of Love a try.
I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook of Dreaming of Love by Melissa Foster. B.J. Harrison was the narrator and he sure knows how to narrate very well. His voices when he gets into character are great. In this audiobook we get to hear the story of Emily Braden and Day Bray whose jobs are totally opposite. She preserves homes and buildings and he demolishes. Their jobs might be polar opposites but their chemistry is totally on point. The meet in Tuscany where Emily is on vacation provided by her brother Wes and he is on business. I love how easy audio books are and how convenient. This audio was another great story by Melissa Foster.
Once again I have to say that the newest Bradens book - Dreaming of Love - is my new favorite of the series. I don't know how Melissa Foster does it, but she continues to develop unique, wonderfully created characters and stories. Emily, the only girl in this branch of the Braden family, is truly a modern-day woman and I can really relate to her thoughts about career, life, and love. Dae is a delightful and hot new hero, and the story between the two of them and with supporting characters is fresh and totally captivating. Along the way we are treated to nuggets of wisdom from Hal Braden, Catherine Braden, and even the hero himself has an amazing outlook on life... "It's not the things that slap us in the face that are the most impressive. It's the things that we have to look a little harder to find." :-)
This book can definitely be read as stand-alone, but I think new readers will get more out of it by at least starting with this branch of the Braden family and more likely, start at the top and read them all... Steamy and sensuous, but woven into wonderful characters, loving families, and great stories - read one and you will be addicted for sure.
