Born in 1969, Australian alchemist artist and author, Ravynne Michele Phelan, a.k.a. Michele-lee Phelan, came to her artistic career in her early thirties after being diagnosed with depression, for which she was prescribed art and writing as a means of therapy and healing. This unusual prescription rekindled a lifelong childhood dream of becoming an artist.

Since then, with a complete dedication to her craft, Ravynne (pronounced Raven) has painted on an almost daily basis. Thousands of hours and hundreds of paintings later, many for publishers, self-published authors, and private commission, she now illustrates her own projects and creates divinatory tools for the purpose of helping others become self-aware, creative, expressive, and to reach their potential. She has developed a unique and recognisable style, and creates illustrations that are magical, powerful, and evocative; works of art that open the mind and touch the hearts of many. Her original paintings and prints hang on the walls of countless homes, in many different countries, all over the globe.

During this time, Ravynne has authored and illustrated the Dreams of Gaia Tarot, Messenger Oracle, and Dreams of Magic. She is also the illustrator of Mythic Oracle of the Ancient Greek Pantheon, written by Carisa Mellado, and is one of several artists who contributed illustrations for Oracle of the Dragonfae by Lucy Cavendish.

"Ravynne is an artist of power, intelligence, and imagination. She is an artist-alchemist who deeply believes in her subject matter, and whose sacred task is to reconnect us all with visions of the divine, in its myriad forms of tree, deity, dryad, or dragon. Every work has a soul, every brushstroke returns magick to our modern world. To gaze upon her creations is to sit with the greatest of teachers; one whose work combines beauty and meaning, the cosmos and the underworld, male and female, and the seen and unseen worlds." Lucy Cavendish - author

About time there is a quality dragon color book!

About time there is a quality dragon color book!
I have been eyeing dragon coloring books since I started coloring in October of 2015. Nothing has spoken to me, especially once I learned that certain publishers use terrible paper in their books. So imagine my delight when I saw a picture of a Jackalope dragon show up in one of my FB Coloring Groups. Immediately I started to question the colorist about the paper in the book and then asked for the name. I read a few of the reviews on Amazon and then pulled the trigger!I just received my book this week and I have to say that my first impression is that the book is absolutely gorgeous and is set up exactly like the Jasmine Beckett-Griffith books. The paper is the same and the layout is the same. The designs within the pages are truly lovely lineart that invite colorists to make the pictures their own. I look forward to coloring in this book very much and will edit this review with my thoughts and pictures completed in time.Edited 06.12.17 to add a photo

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm in love with this coloring book!
Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2016
I love Ravynne's art and wanted to get back into doing my own art after having had hand problems a while back. This coloring book is a great segue to retrain myself since I'm a bit out of practice. Most of the images are pictorial rather than totemic or mandala like and all have wonderful detail. The paper is high quality and the book is a comfortable size and well bound. Each coloring page is on the right side of the open book with it's background/description/story on the left page. (See pics) I've finished a couple of images and included one half finished and a few completely uncolored pages for you to judge for yourself. These pics were taken with my camera phone and don't really do them justice, but I hope they'll help you decide. *Edited to remove duplicate images.

I Love the paper that this book has, it is definitely not Amazon printed paper that's for sure. Not only is the paper fantastic but the art work is incredible. The pictures of the Dragons are amazing, also there are other pictures that go along with dragons like the other picture I posted, it's the Red Queen. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes to color
