From the Inside Flap
She felt her chest tighten. He was so near . . . so wonderfully near. She looked down at the beautiful rug, trying to calm her nerves. "Thank--thank you."
"You're welcome, although I hardly deserve any thanks. But I did speak to Judge Winters today about finding your aunt."
Judith's head snapped up. "You did?"
"Yes. I'm sorry it took me so long to do so."
She forgot all about her weeks of frustration. "Did you learn anything?"
"I'm not sure. I have a lead, but I don't want to say anything until I know something more certain. Will you trust me to see it through?"
She nodded. "I would trust you with anything, Caleb."
He beamed at her. "Then I will learn what I can and tell you as soon as I know something certain. You can count on me. I won't put the matter aside until we find out the truth."
Judith felt overcome with love for him. He had no idea of her thoughts or how he made her feel, but it didn't matter. Caleb Coulter was the man her heart had chosen, and whether anything ever came of it, nothing would alter her feelings for him.|Tracie Peterson is the bestselling, award-winning author of more than 100 novels. "This second novel of the Golden Gate Secrets series continues the story of one of the three women who met on a train bound for San Francisco, and each wants to resolve issues from their past. Written in Peterson's fluid style, the novel brings 1900s 'Frisco before our eyes."--Historical Novels Review --This text refers to the paperback edition.

This story is a continuation of Judith and Caleb. It was love at first sight for Judith when she saw Caleb at his home where she was living with his sister and their friend Kenzie. Judith had traveled to San Francisco to look for her family after finding a letter with information written by her mother. It was very confusing for her when her world was turned upside down after finding her grandmother. This was a very exciting story which included the earthquake and fires of 1906 as well as some family mystery!! This book kept me reading the night through!!
The struggle they share and the happiness they find together, makes them a family .
