As an educator who teaches literary analysis, I understand the significance and power of metaphor and archetype in literature and in life. Applying the same concepts to dreams makes perfect sense. For example, I have many dreams where I am in a house--the author explains how to interpret the house metaphor! The Divine Child, a part of our "psyche that holds our hopes and dreams," is another archetype I found truly intriguing.
Don't expect to zip through this book for answers to your latest dream, though. There's a plethora of examples, ideas, and concepts to chew on. I find myself rereading the examples and explanations, and then pausing to reflect on my own Big Dreams. This is a resource I will refer to again and again.
Pharaoh had Joseph to interpret his dreams--- I'll be using Dreams: Guide to the Soul--40 Keys to Healing, Renewal, and Power.
I would recommend when reading this book to apply the dreams within it that the reader finds important to their own experiences and circumstances, and rereading it from time to time to discover more meaning as dreams change through time.
This book has given me great insight into the source and meaning to my own dreams. The identification I have found to the various Archetypes in myself and others is already proving to be helpful in dealing with day to day challenges in my own life. I have identified several Archetypes presently in my life, and this book is acting as a guide into how to deal with these people in the conscious world.
This book carries a high recommendation for its insights, and extensive research by the author to identify and categorize dreams, their meaning, and the Archetypes developed from this research.
