I would like to see Dremel publish a good thorough how-to book explaining which attachments & accessories to use for various tasks as well as the best way to approach them. The information included with the tool & accessories is a little too vague for someone who is not familiar with woodworking, metal cutting, etc. Also, the Dremel videos are a little too vague for my taste; for example, it would be nice if they explained why a specific accessory was chosen over another one that will also do the job. A video explaining what the different cutting bit shapes are for, what all of the grinding stone accessories do, and others of that nature would be very helpful to us newbies.
Brand new, the EZ Change is stiff and VERY hard to operate-- oh well. it will probably loosen after some use, I look at what they have included, but I opt for a specific tool from my "leftover" box. Whoa, this collet is too big! Back to the new box looking for collets of a different size-- as 4-5 of different sizes had been included in EVERY Dremel kit I ever bought. THERE ARE NO OTHER SIZE COLLETS IN THIS KIT. Grump, mope, whine, I make do with a different tool from the new selection. Then I go online to Amazon looking for a set of different size collets similar to these from a different model here (4 collets + the nut for $6.27) http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-4485-Quick-Change-Collet/dp/B0000302Z6/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1456449377&sr=1-1&keywords=dremel+tool+accessories. These will not work, of course, so I finally turn up what I need-- but, there are only three sizes listed on Amazon and the two sizes (other than that supplied in the kit) cost $16.09 apiece http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-EZC481-32-Inch-Change-Collet/dp/B00SWIHD0W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1456450313&sr=8-2&keywords=dremel+tool+ez+change+collets.
Metal cutoff wheels cost between $10-$16, more than one would cost me for my tablesaw.
Bottom line: buying this kit is an expensive mistake, particularly if you have numerous unused tools left over from previous kits. Couple the insane price inflation (an additional $32 after buying a not inexpensive kit so I can use SOME of my existing tools and attachments. I have not tried it yet but what I read about the collets, it seems that I might not be able to use my cable or right angle head either.
