Elizabeth enter "reach for the Runway", reality TV show to support Jane.
After being insulted by Darcy, she was in it to win it.
Darcy, late poloplayer/model, now a designer and owner of Pemberley fashion, had little filter on his thoughts. Initially blowing off Elizabeth as too short, too curvy etc he was surprised by how well her pictures turned out...
The reality show had a lot of similarities to a well known real one and the competition were a large part of the book. A 200.000$ contract for Pemberley fashion was the price and earned Darcy his place in the panel of judges although he opted to send a substitute for the most part.
Caroline and her catty remarks was present as one of the models and some of the models was new characters. Wickham was a photographer and there was a twist to him that adapted his role nicely into the modern world. The changes to him and the debacle he made with both Georgiana and Lydia fitted nicely as well.
What I found less plausible was the romance of ODC. Too little interaction between ODC made it feel rushed and awkward in a modern setting.
Appropriate for readers of all ages as this was a clean read.
Recommend for a young adults as it had that feel to me.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
I found Darcy as a clothing designer to be very acceptable. Anything Darcy does, he endeavors to do the best he can. And I thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary Pride and Prejudice variation. Most of the people are in character, and the plot is believable.
Ms. Farr, I look forward to your next book whether modern or Regency. Good job!
This story could have been great if ODC could have developed their relationship with greater depth. I also gave 3:5 stars but as Elin rounded hers up I rounded mine down.
