This one is usually my to go for a gift mainly cause the dried fruits are tasty and the tray (I think it's so cute) can be used after the snacks are gone. To hold fruits or other snacks. It also came with a freshness ziplock bag, so if there was some leftover, you can use the cover to seal the remain back up.

I wish Bonnie & Pop had a replacement offering for the wonderful combination of dried fruit - other dried fruit combinations just don't compare. And of course, the apple basket = fascinating! Solid wood, very clever carving & a wonderful reminder of a special treat you gifted or enjoyed yourself

This was a gift for my aging parents who live in a senior apartment building. They shared the gift with a group of their friend and everyone commented on how delicious the fruit was and how cute the board was that the fruit was on. My mother gave me this as a gift a couple of years ago. I always have loved dried fruit and this has a variety and it's yummy. The bonus was the tray that turns into a bowl. Loved it so much, I got another! I don't see it as much use as a tray, however, when you're done eating the yummyness, you can add some fresh fruit to the bowl and not be embarrassed by how it looks. I have one for fruits and another by my front door to catch things as I come running thru.

overall, 3.5 to 4 stars. It's charming, even with its faults I would still consider this as a gift. Hence 4 stars.

Lovely product. Fresh, soft, chewy fruit. well wrapped, nice box. Nice presentation. GIFT WORTHY! The addition of the apple shaped "tray" (not a tray, read more) that can turn into a basket is rather charming and really makes this product an eye catcher. I bought this for myself, but I would consider this as a gift for anyone, anytime.

HOWEVER, know that the tray really doesnt work as a tray. I thought that if the apple shaped plastic tray was kept for use on top of the wood it would work as a tray. The wood itself doesnt really work because it isnt solid-- its all grooves. But when I fully unwrapped it (i hadmt at first), that is when I noticed that the "tray" doesnt stay solid, it immediately begins to turn into the basket. It doesnt lock into a tray. It can not be picked up for use as a tray. Too bad. (hence my edit, because I thought it would stay a tray).

As for use as a basket-- doable, but had potential to tip. Not as in fall over, but the basket is on a slight swivel, and I can easily angle it down. Yet, all told, its cute, and I think anyone would like it. I really have no use for a basket. Had this been a workable tray, I would have loved this item

The fruit: nice assortment, loads of apple rings. Some dry medjool dates. Would like to see pineapple. LOVE the mango. Pear is good. Lots of apricot. Couple items were hard to bite into. Still, for most part good.

I dont rate on price, as I know prices fluctuate and people have their own budgets. But I comment. I was able to get this when it was $30, and I thought that was reasonable. In fact it was an impulse purchase for myself. Now (a few days later) that it is pushing $40 I dont think I would buy this again for myself or as gift. I think some stuff just has a sweet spot for pricing, and closer to $30 is likely it (for me).

But that being said, I think it is a decent gift item. If buying for self, take note of what I said about using it as tray--wont happen.

I've bought these twice before and waxed lyrical over them. Fantastic display of dried fruit. Beautiful fruit bowl with easy assembly. However, third time, unlucky. The shortish 'best before' date for the dried fruit really undermines this as a birthday gift. And I'd used the option for a personalised gift message too. It becomes an almost-£30 wooden fruit bowl instead, effectively leaving the recipient (birthday June 28) with a month in which to consume all the dried fruit. Real shame as it looks spectacular and the contents, from past experience, will taste glorious but unless you're a fruit bat, or just batty about dried fruit, the expiry deadline could drive you bananas. I just hope my friends don't think I picked it up in a sale because of the short use by date - 2/8/2022. Ah, well, when life gives you lemons, don't look too sour...
