Plant overview Many people appreciate lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) for its aromatic fragrance, used in soaps, shampoos, and sachets for scenting clothes. The name lavender comes from the Latin root lavare, which means "to wash." Lavender most likely earned this name because it was frequently used in baths to help purify the body and spirit. However, this herb is also considered a natural remedy for a range of ailments from insomnia and anxiety to depression and mood disturbances. Recent studies bear out years of anecdotal evidence showing that lavender produces calming, soothing, and sedative effects. Insomnia in folklore, pillows were filled with lavender flowers to help the restless fall sleep. There is now scientific evidence to suggest that aromatherapy with lavender slows the activity of the nervous system, improves sleep quality, promotes relaxation, and lifts mood in people suffering from sleep disorders. Studies also suggest that massage with essential oils, particularly lavender, may result in improved sleep quality, more stable mood, increased mental capacity, and reduced anxiety. In one recent study, participants who received massage with lavender felt less anxious and more positive than participants who received massage alone. Lavender flowers have also been approved by the Commission E in Germany as a tea for insomnia, restlessness, and nervous stomach irritations. Aromatherapy Aromatherapists also use lavender as a tonic in inhalation therapy to treat headaches, nervous disorders, and exhaustion. Herbalists treat skin ailments, such as fungal infections (like candidiasis), wounds, eczema, and acne, with lavender oil. It is also used externally in a healing bath for circulatory disorders and as a rub for rheumatic ailments (conditions affecting the muscles and joints).

TLDR; 10/10 would buy again if I ever get to thinking I can win the fight.
As far as the quantity, I was a little disappointed at how much a lb of lavender is, but this is just my own ignorance. For the price, it is still a great deal for what I'm using it for - wedding favors. I have sachets that I'm filling with about 3 - 4 tablespoons (depending on how packed/overflowing you fill it) and a 1 lb bag filled approximately 52 sachets. so 1 2lb order would get you a few over 100 sachets of a decent quantity of lavender. This is, of course, depending on the exact amount you put in the sachets. Some I had a bit more in, some a bit less, it wasn't like I was counting each bud. In the picture I'm showing about how much was in each scoop with my tablespoon. I'm still satisfied with the price per person for this. If you were giving it for throwing at a wedding I would think you could get away with only 2 tablespoons per person, which would yield closer to about 75 sachets.
Ordered another pound and i am even more pleased! Clearly this batch is the latest harvest. Brighter colors, same amazing scent. GOOD lavender preserves strong scent even when "aging". I had some left over from the pounds i bought months ago still smelling strong! Highly suggest this lavender.
What a pleasant surprise!
This huge bag came in the mail quickly. For the price i wasnt expecting great but this for sure surpassed my expectations by a thousands miles!
Great scent throw (suggestion: gently crush on your hand or sachet the lavender to bring out the strong scent) . Great color. NO one bit of dust. Debris about 0.5% of the whole bag!!!
I truly recommend.
NOW i want to say something about lavender. If you want deeply color saturated lavender you need to search for english lavender or blue lavender. There are many types lavender and a lesser lavender called lavandin. They are truly different SPECIES of the same family. Dont expect blue from cheaper lavender options. Be ready to dish out the double amount $$$ blue lavender requires. And please dont ruin reviews on a GREAT product becasue of your unawareness.
