Victoria James is a sommelier and beverage director/partner at Cote Korean Steakhouse where she recently received a James Beard nomination for "Outstanding Wine Program." She has worked in restaurants since she was thir­teen and when she was twenty-one became certified as a sommelier, going on to work in Michelin-starred dining rooms such as Aureole and Marea. Victoria’s name has appeared on many no­table lists: Forbes and Zagat's "30 Under 30," Food & Wine's "2018 Sommelier of the Year," Wine Enthusiast’s “40 Under 40.” She is the author of DRINK PINK, A Celebration of Rosé (HarperCollins) and WINE GIRL, The Obstacles, Humiliations, and Triumphs of America's Youngest Sommelier (Ecco/HarperCollins). She has a quarterly print column for Forbes magazine and has contributed to Munchies, Cosmopolitan, and Bon Appétit. She is also a co-founder of the 501c3 non-profit, WINE EMPOWERED, which offers tuition-free wine classes to women and persons of color in the hospitality industry.
